Bijan or Jaxon Smith-Njigba?

I think they’ll shift a little to prioritizing the running game, but not necessarily running backs.

His lack of proficiency in the receiving game will work against him. I think he’d be a helluva running threat in our scheme though. He’s not Swift insurance however.

Do you think Keaton Mitchell declares? He’s not going to stop being tiny.

I knew he was a freak from a strength perspective, but that 4.5 number would surprise me. If he puts that up in testing while still holding his weight, he could definitely go day 2.

I love the Black Panther movies….but my best friend, who is African-American, thinks that Wakanda is real… :person_facepalming:

I think he should and I hope he does. I love him, and I actually think he’s got good vision inside to be able to thrive there too. Of course at his size I don’t know how well he’d hold up, but man, you want to talk about a weapon that would have to be accounted for. He would really be great for us in the Swift role.

If I can’t have Bijan, my next preference would be finding a way to get both Kraton and McBride. Reup Jamaal short term and get rid of the Playstation/Justin Jackson types.

I think that would be doable for sure. Not having our 4th would hurt and there are other guys I would prefer over McBride with our 3rd (Izzy, Bigsby, Evans, etc…), plus that’s really the upper end of where I’m comfortable drafting a RB. But I also think there’s a chance he could last til our 5th. I don’t expect Keaton to go high no matter what he runs, he’ll be lumped into that Ty Johnson/Jason Huntley/Boston Scott category of fast but small RBs that are always available late.

Yeah, my first thought was that he looked a bit slow…but then after watching more, I thought he looked like he had decent speed.

I’ve been seeing Achane pretty late in a lot of mocks but I really have trouble with that considering what he’s likely to run. He’s small but he’s not Mitchell slow.

Zach Evans is clearly one of the most talented guys but I think he may be a turd and we’re turd averse.

Brad is a GPS fan. :man_shrugging:

I love this run. The two controlled step overs. So many modern backs would completely leave their feet (including Swifty in all likelihhod).

Dane’s still high on Achane and he’s pretty plugged in, so I suspect if he continues to fall in the media there will be a lot of surprised people come draft day. I think he’s pretty limited as far as what he can bring to the pros because of his size - he’s even smaller than Keaton - but use him right and he can be the same sort of player. Worst case he ought to be a good returner. You never really want him protecting your QB.

Yeah that’s fair on Evans. Pretty sure he’s a turd.

See those two plays are why he’s so hard to figure out. On the first one he looked to have great breakaway speed, further evidenced by his GPS mph. But on the second he barely pulled away from what looked like an interior lineman, maybe? Certainly some sort of big lug.

But I agree the subtle hurdles are top notch RB stuff. Great instincts.

You think Achane is smaller than Keaton? I thought Achane was 190. I still like him as well. He runs hard for a track guy. But he’s clearly a committee guy. I do get that KR is of less importance now but you’re getting a top 2-3 KR on day 1 as well.

I like McBride more than you do. My main problem is that presuming we resign JWill (and I think that’s likely) it’s far more imperative for the sake of the offense that we add someone who can mitigate inevitable Swift injuries and perhaps replace him the following year. And McBride is just about the furthest from that guy.

Yeah you’re probably higher on him than I am, but I still like him. I just have questions about athleticism that will hopefully get answered throughout the pre-draft process. His instincts are excellent and that’s a big part of the battle. But you have to have the juice to make it matter. David Montgomery’s got good instincts too, but he’s been had by his subpar athleticism.

He’s a little superfluous with Williams, but I’m not sure we’d be bringing Williams back on a long term deal. Good RBs come in all shapes in sizes, we just need to draft the best one. If Dameon Pierce was available in the 4th like last year I’d be all over him, to hell with what we already have.

I guess Achene’s about the same size as Keaton but they’re both in the probably-too-small-but-fast category, so it’s really only semantics. Achane will certainly go higher cause he’s done it against studs, but I’d just as soon wait and grab a guy like Keaton.

Odd that he ran his fastest after 65 yards of running.
