Bob Quinn…. Start, Bench Cut

Let’s play a little game. I’m going to do one for Quinn, Mayhew, and Holmes too. I’ll let this game play out and let’s see where it takes us.

Should we do Millen too?….nah

Anyway you pick two players to start, two players to put on your bench and then everyone else is basically cut off the team.

Let’s pretend all these players are playing in today’s NFL and your building the Ultimate Detroit Lions Team.

From these Bob Quinn’s Draft picks (2016-2020) which two are you starting? (you must pick two)

  • Jeff Okudah - 1st Round 2020
  • D. Swift - 2nd Round 2020
  • TJ Hockenson - 1st 2019
  • J. Tavai - 2nd 2019
  • F. Ragnow -1st 2018
  • Kerryon Johnson -2nd 2018
  • Jared Davis - 1st 2017
  • T. Tabor - 2nd 2017
  • T. Decker - 1st 2016
  • A. Robinson - 2nd 2016
  • G. Glasgow - 3rd 2016
  • K. Golladay - 3rd 2017
  • Will Harris - 3rd 2019
  • Jonah Jackson - 3rd 2020

First poll is too easy to just open it.

You can edit it.

Oh good. My choices make a lot more sense now.

Okay that’s what I get for not reading directions, I benched T Tabor & Okudah and was really confused to see Hockenson as the #1 vote getter. Shame on me, guy who clearly never reads the entire email and misses the key details

My issues is I really hated Hock. He acted like he was Gronk and Kittle all rolled up into 1. So went GG and Swift. But Hock is likely the more sensible pick with either GG or Swift

But thinking ahead the Holmes one will be brutal

You should almost go by rounds

And how do you not start Sewell and Hutch? But wait you took Hutch over our All Pro ARSB??? So you didn’t just pick the 2 All Pro guys?

At least a 2nd Round starter would be easier in taking BB and LaPorta if you went by Round

It was terrible except oline

He benched himself. The coach called his number but he was so slow the play started before he made it onto the field from the sidelines

The Holmes draft poll I’m planning at least an hour of internal debate. That’s going to be the difficult one.

Save an hour. Sewell and St.Brown.

Then I thought of Gibbs, Hutch, Kerby and Branch… Okay you are right. It is tough. Not even fair to have to pick just 2.

I put Hock on the bench behind LaPorta. Golladay made more sense to me as a backup WR than Glasgow because I already have a C in Ragnow and think there will be better options at OG.

I’d argue that you can find a golladay in free agency. His type of receiver is a dime a dozen these days. Without a quarterback like Stafford he’s useless. A player like Glasgow is more difficult. An interior lineman that can play all 3 interior positions and be solid is much more rare.

I’d hate to show you my fantasy football roster :joy:

Prime Golladay was actually pretty good, and that’s who I voted for. I thought of the prime version while casting that vote

he was good because Stafford was willing to trust him on 50/50 balls. That was his strength. Once he started getting paired with other quarterbacks he couldn’t do anything.

Kenny really hand good hands and was physical. He was a beast on some of those jump ball throws. But you are spot on. He didn’t get much separation at all

I never thought of him as a 50/50 guy, he could run and get in and out of breaks pretty well relative to his size. It was a plus definitely though that he had pretty good hands for sure along w length/size.

Saw him quite a bit in college as well, he was more similar to a Corey Davis type. Neither won because of random college QB’s throwing 50/50 balls up to them

That was college though. In the nfl he was never able to consistently gain separation.
