It’s compounded by the fact Dan talked to Allen before the game and told him the plan. So Allen’s gross incompetence basically cost the Lions the game and affected postseason seeding. Fireable offense anywhere else.
Ben and Dan know the play. Tell the refs it may be coming before the game. Tall Guy won’t be eligible, but will run on late to look like it. Two big guys next to you will tell you which one of them is eligible ( so they during the game then can decide which side to run it to, that’s why the two tackles are out there).
Decker and Sewell know the play. Skip knows the play.
Then, JUST BECAUSE…Skip says he is eligible from across the schoolyard, THEN goes and lines up AT RG??? A Position that is Automatically Ineligible? So, he lines up KNOWING he will be penalized? And still runs the play?
So this moron ■■■■■ up. 68 reports eligible and he goes and tells the defense it was 70. His mistake. After he flags the Lions and refuses to own it. Also, what is going on with his lip?
The ref should have owned up to his error. He reported 70 as eligible instead of 68 to the defense. If it was a mistake and not if not intentional he should have stated the error and declared the teams replay the down. End of story. This would have been the only fair outcome after he messed up. It was a human error and instead of admitting it and replay the down he tries to lie his way out of it. It would not have been fair to give us the victory if he told the defense 70 was eligible. I’m sure Dan would not want the win that way either. We should have replayed the down after the ref admitted his mistake.
I give credit to ESPN and SVP. He clearly calls out the official for making an error. The NFL network disregards the call and says the cowboys remain dominant at home because Dak and Lamb are so great. How bout them cowboys!
