With the amount of money being donated to player salaries, the leash for coaches will be a lot shorter. College coaches will now have the same lifespan as NFL coaches.

There are so many coaches out there, it’s just a matter of getting the right guy to build the program you want. Then, it’s about having the patience to let him do that. The big names out there will get all the attention, but there are a lot of good coaches out there just waiting for their shot.
LSU is a big time program with money to throw around, but it’s also a high pressure job. The Kelly hire didn’t seem like a good fit for either party.

Very true, it’s just the ones with clear ties to Oklahoma State and/or the area/regime - Eric Morris, GJ Kinne, Jeff Traylor, Monken, Alex Golesh, Collin Klein - happen to be some of the hottest coaches out there. Zac Robinson’s lost some shine and no one knows if he wants to leave the pro game, but he could be our next version of Gundy I suppose.
This guy is a prick and not in a good way. There is a huge difference between being a hard ass and treating people poorly. This guy treats everyone poorly including his players. Saban for example is a hard ass who really toed the line of treating people poorly at times. He never crossed the line. Kelly is a POS.
Some program needs to pay Urban Meyer whatever the hell he wants to come in. He’s the biggest fish out there and it’s not close. The guy is a flat out winner at the college level… And these schools including Michigan better be using all their resources to bring him in because you are going to need a top coach to beat OHIO State and also Cignetti now. Who out there is going to put in the work that Curt Cignetti is?
If Urban Meyer can come in and win in this era he will go down as the greatest college coach of all time without question. Make him an offer he can’t refuse.

kelly was always such an ass to his players. he has a good football mind but coaching is more than screaming at guys.
You make yourself trusted and loved. Willing to go to the mat for them. The players will kill themselves to make sure they don’t disappoint you.
