Can we have a GLP-1 conversation?

Great job @DeadDog That is very impressive. You are going to have to fight the ladies off of you.

A little long, but it’s an interesting read.

This has been my experience too and since it was unexpected it isn’t a placebo effect

I’m a bit spectrumy, do a lot of repetitive low reward activities - like play dumb games or doomscroll Lion message boards. Now I find they bore me after a few minutes and I’m more interested in productive activities like taking care of my home and exercise. I also find that I am less distractable at work. If this is real, this benefit exceeds what I am also gaining from the weight loss

As soon as I noticed this was happening I started wondering how helpful GLP-1s will be for patients with ASD

Lower insulin levels (within lab reference range) have a positive cascading effect.

Also - being on in now for nine weeks, it is mimicking the health benifits of a natural water fast… and remember I’ve done uo to 22 days water fasts; same effects and results but the GLP seems to make it happen quicker imho

There is nothing wrong with doomscrolling Lions message boards. We need to all keep saying that to ourselves.

Dr. Ben Bikman is a great follow on YouTube. PhD rsearcher at BYU. Probably one of the leading Insulin experts in the country. He covers all kinds of metabolic topics. Pouring thorugh his online lessons and interviews is time well spent, if one wants to dive deeper into metabolic issues.

For example…Retatrutide not approved yet by the FDA, but part of the reason why Eli LIlly stock is soaring. Preliminary results have been really positive.

so I’m curious with the benefits, what happens if you go cold turkey. I know the human body doesn’t like doing that no matter what you’re quitting.

I read much of Jason Fung’s essays on intermittent fasting and the insulin pathway

He’s accessible and explains the science well.

Yeah, I like Fung too. I like the fact that he treats patients and has the records and data to prove his work. Bikman doesnt treat patients but is on the forefront of research on these issues. He leads a team at BYU. There is a pool of solid data and leaders on these topics. I find it pretty interesting.

Big fan of Dr. Fung…. He got me into fasting years ago.

My doctors say it’s bad; once I reach my BMI goal of 24.9, I’ll be slowly whined off it like a steroid pack…

Even with a natural water fast, you have to slowly work your intake of food back in slowly… any sudden change can literally send you to the ER

My pharmacy offers maintenance dosing, 1/4 dose for 1/4 the price

It sounds like we would all be wise to buy GLP stocks asap

A bit late potentially. Eli Lilly has gone from a 250B MC company to a 1T MC company in like 2.5 years. Not saying there isn’t more to go but the big move probably already happened.

Maybe shorting Krispy Kreme and Kraft and McDonalds and shitfood Co’s like that.

McDonald’s might be tricky bc of the underlying real estate business. Krispy Kreme might be tough to short bc Kadyn Proctor just became a multimillionaire.
