Is that an upgrade from Biggs? Bugz is okay, but if it’s not an upgrade, then why go for it? I’ve heard mixed reviews on Payne as well. W need pressure up the middle.

I agree with all this a another guy that would be good fit Is Tuli Tuipulotu he would fit nicely next to McNiel. He is climbing up draft boards can play inside and out and he just makes plays he has the production to match. He has a little JJ Watt in him

I think the last guy in the Clemson thread nailed it: “That was a coaching issue.” Evaluators will be able to see through that. All rookies need some molding and Todd Wash could squeeze the good out of either Bresee or Murphy if they’re not turds. Dan still don’t like turds.
I always have a problem with projection with a top 10 pick. That’s show me territory. I agree with the no turds policy.

You don’t think McNeil would provide more pressure if he slimmed down 30lbs?
I think he would provide more pressure with Carter next to him.

Carter would play the 3t , and I’m ok with Carter but I’m also ok with out him. He worry’s me because I think his lack of production has to do with how slow he is off the snap, he has great explosion but he is the last guy to move. After the video from that kid that did a breakdown on him. I went back and watched more of him and he seems to lack anticipation. But it’s real noticeable on how he is the last guy to move on most snaps.

Honestly, that isn’t out of the question. If the surgery fixes whatever ailed him in his first 2 seasons, why couldn’t he contribute at the level that was expected when he was drafted? Moneywise, there’s very little reason to cut him before the 2023 season starts, so he’ll get his chance.
Remember, good things happen to the Brand New Lions.

I don’t think it’s necessarily slow, but you’re right in that Carter doesn’t have an elite first step. I’ve noticed how Georgia has a mix of read react and attack so sometimes it’s hard to get a read on that stuff(a lot like Pachal last year). However his combination of Power, quickness, and leverage after the snap are just above every other DT in this class.

That’s why I’m ok and the other can be taught. He has the talent so it’s something he can still get better at. But still worried about that lack of production and that slow first step.
By the way if you want to see a slow first step watch that Florida DT Gervon Dexter. You can eat lunch and watch an episode of Ozark before he gets going.

Yeah but I don’t really care for him either.
I still disagree that his first step is slow it’s just not elite. This is a game from last year where he was asked to go upfield more. Again not elite, but not slow.
