Florida fans sure seem pissed about this one. Florida has recycled through a lot of coaches since Urban left. I’d lean toward it’s an institutional problem more than a coach problem. I don’t follow the program closely enough, but money and recruiting doesn’t seem like it should be an issue.
Sumrall is a good football coach.

Lane is a massive jerk, the timing of all this, the drama and apparently he’s demanding to finish the season with Ole Miss if he takes the LSU job and is threatening to poach their players if they don’t allow him to finish and this is completely unfair to the players who should be focusing on a playoff game not all the drama that’s surrounding Lane’s decision. Massive douche, generational doucheiness on levels that not even Urban Meyer can touch.

I don’t agree with that at all. The NCAA, again, creates its own problems. Schools should not be allowed to change coaches until the season has concluded. It’s a simple fix, but they don’t do it.
He was forced to make a decision Saturday, he apparently did. If you’re forcing him to no longer have contact, then he has a right to take his staff. The drama is created because of when and how a coach is forced to switch jobs. They have a right to switch jobs, so make it a fair process.

I do think Lane is a selfish prick but I don’t think this one is his fault. The NCAA has absolutely mangled things in the portal. They’ve compounded issues rather than alleviated them.
