I dont mind kids getting paid, but the way nil is and how works makes me hate college sports. Portal is just as sad. Now the 5 for 5 deal what the f uck is this the new Arby’s. Now im hearing players that played in nfl are coming back. Cool whats next . LeBron James is going to osu so he can be just like mike.

Wow so these are guys currently in nfl training camps and playing in preseason games. I assume if you play in a regular season game that would disqualify the player from going back to college?

Definitely interesting. Gonna get messy for sure. But in theory a player goes to nfl camp, tried to make the nfl, unfortunately gets cut and then heads back to college. But the college season will have already begun.
Some college teams just adding studs right as the season begins. Yea gonna get messy

The issue currently is alumni Judges getting paid off to allow their players to be eligible. And once one player get a pass, it sets legal precedent and opens the floodgates.
The only fix is going to be. Take 40-60 schools. Thats the new top division for football and their own teir for basketball. They become independent, with a players union. And donors and NIL have to be completely independent from the university.
Players getting sponsored with NIL is 100% legal and fine. However sponsors and donors working with universities to recruit students is not okay. And illegal in all pro sports leagues.
It will eventually happen. The TV networks will want that. They are the BULK of the money. Money talks.

People need to be patient as the process works itself out. The NCAA is dug in to the point of irrelevance, and the conferences are beefing. It’s going to work itself out, but it’s going to take time. It will initially take small steps before an ultimate solution is worked out, which will require collective bargaining. We’ll see. I’m surprised more people in college sports can’t see the future, but some are really dug in. I’m not sure what the hell the SEC is thinking right now.

The good story from NIL is Indiana. That’s not possible 10 years ago. The bad part is there are no rules. Once it’s sorted out you’ll see more parity and not the same teams every year in the championship.
