“Lions showed real interest”
Wow, it would seem like if we want McDaniels, we would likely get him unless he gets a HC job.
The Titans have an interview scheduled with him for HC. We’ll wait and see I guess, but McDaniel to Detroit picked up some serious steam with this news. Washington was seen as the main contender for McDaniel if he chooses the OC route.
Well, there you go for those who think this would have been a dinky hire.
Curious, would Blough have to pick the Commanders then? Or was he free to choose which organization?
Good for him. I was a little nervous about him being a 1st time play caller at age 30.
But Wash pulled the trigger
Gotta keep Daniels healthy or he will get fired fast

I just can’t see McDaniels deciding to go from the Phins to the Titans
That is like jumping from the frypan to the fire as far as FO and ownership
While I agree. Money talks
Who is paying him head coach money to be OC?
Yep. Coaches make bad career decisions all the time. All. The. Time.
Apparently he’s still being paid by Miami to not coach for them, so something something money isn’t a problem.
At least that’s what I thought I remembered seeing in another thread.
So 2 head coaching salaries at the same time. Even better
This is amazing news… A 2 for 1 blocking McDaniel from going there and the Lions not hiring him… Win win
HE gets paid by the Dolphins for the next 3 years minus whatever he makes at his new job.
Titans were only paying Callahan $3M/yr
McDaniels was making like $4.5M/yr
Why go to the Titans to a team is dissarray? He can wait and pick his team much like Ben did
Because coaches make bad decisions all the time.
Oh I see your logic but agree with @Thats2 coaches make terrible decisions all the time.
So 2 head coaching salaries at the same time. Even better
Head coaches have offser language in their contracts. Can’t double dip and apparently you have to keep looking for a job.
You can’t just take the money and go away
A 2 for 1 blocking McDaniel from going there and the Lions not hiring him… Win win
I’d like to say that I agree with this sentiment for the following reason:
I’m not saying I think Blough is going to fail. He could very well be extremely successful.
An inexperienced, young coach like David Blough is not what I believe we need right now. I believe we need someone with successful experience as a playcaller.
Holy shit wow
They really didnt want to lose Blough
will be interested to see how that tenure goes, if it doesnt go well, it will sink Dan Quinn
