Compensatory pick update

The Lions can always trade back or up for a 3rd rounder. Heck they gave up a bunch of their 5ths and 6ths for a 3rd to get BroMart. He didn’t work out, but I’m cool with the trade up. 2nd and 3rd rounders are gold for OL.

He wasn’t terrible before the injury

Yup. Not to mention he’s here to play man-to-man. The Lions defensive scheme has always been versatility and iman to man corners who are good tacklers. The tackling is there, but not much else. He’s super scrappy. I hope it works out for him.

Robertson has been worse IMO. I keep saying this, but I hope he gets cut because of his poor excuse for tackling. All he does is try to punch the ball out instead oif tackle.

I thought he was really good before the injury, but now he runs about 10 yards and falls down.

If we sit Reed out for an entire game would that secure the 4th round comp pick? I’d like to see what we have in Whiteside to see if he is a keeper going forward.

I thought he earned a permanent spot on the roster like Saylors did on offense. Then they cut him, like twice already and he’s cleared waivers both times.

I like the way you think

Like Nick said, estimating the cutoff between rounds is the hardest part of projecting the comp picks. So no, there are no guarantees.

But you feel pretty good about us getting at least a comp 5th?

Yes

Before you name players who suck an if you want a list it will be long. I ask what made them suck? I think we as fans need to look at some of the coaches or coaching plans before we single out plays on the list.

Do we have an opinion where this likely ended up? A comp 5th?

Yeah I would like to know as well

Iffy ended up with 51% if the defensive snaps and is currently 38 points above the cutoff for a 7th compensatory pick. I think he’ll qualify, but we’ll have to see what tweaks Nick does at the end.

DJ Reed played 52.9% of the snaps and is currently 1pt above the cutoff for 4th/5th pick. Literally could go either way. We’ll have to wait and see how Nick tweaks those as well.

When Nick does make an error, it’s usually in placing a compensatory pick that is borderline between one round and another. So, safe to say that we are getting a compensatory pick and it will be either a 4th or 5th. We’ll find out right before the start of UFA.

How would it work if we sign Linderbaum who would qualify as a 3rd and sign no others that qualify. We then lose say 4 of our own who qualify like Amik and Reader and others but they only qualify as 5 thru 7th rounders. Would we get comp picks or does the net value just cancel it out?

No net value on losses. Highest CFA would cancel out Linerbaum and we’d get 3 comp picks in the 5th-7th rounds for the other three.

Love you bro! In a compensatory kind of way!

I just saw an article from OTC that said we are projected to receive only a 6th round pick. Is this correct?
