Nick Korte**
I’ve learned that the leaguewide number considered for the 2026 compensatory picks might be a bit higher than I projected. If that’s true, after cleaning this up the projection could look something like this. No huge changes, just a few picks moving a round.
With his changes, CDIII falls 10 points inside the 4th round, Reid remains one point inside 4th round/5th round cut off and Zeitler one point inside the 5th round/6th round cutoff.
With Nick’s changes, I think it’s less likely that we get a 3rd . . . maybe 5% 3rd, 30% 4th/5th/6th and 5% no pick.
About a week we find out.
Oh shit Fr?
that would be big to get that 3rd ngl
And Brad spending a 3rd pick to acquire Carlton Davis would be vindicated.

I’m surprised the NFL keeps the announce day a secret and they don’t make it a televised event complete with highlights of the players that moved teams. Maybe the NFLPA would be against it by discouraging fans from wanting to sign all the high priced FAs.
We are gonna get a 4th Rounder
Those things come in waves like this.
Final answer
It’s the offseason, albeit the best part of the offseason, but damn right, I’d tune in if there was any chance the Lions were getting a comp pick. Should they reel the picks out from 7th to 3rd or 3rd to 7th? I’d think the former would keep the audience engaged the longest.
I know since they lost 3 guys signed one they have a total loss claim once in a while they could get a 5th and 7th.
So we’re definitely getting a 3rd for AG and then something 4-7 for player losses right? Sorry this shit confuses me
We’ve already traded away the 3rd for AG, during last year’s draft as part of our trade-up for TeSlaa.
This year we’re just waiting to hear on the one pick we’ll get, and yeah, it’s somewhere between a 3rd and a 7th. The comp pick formula is notoriously complicated.
Thank you
So if history is correct the NFL should announce the comp picks before noon Monday.
That would be helpful to know what draft capital you have before spending on free agents.
Yeah it would be great to come away with another 4th but I’m not holding my breath. these NFL decisions usually don’t go in our favor.
I read where last year they actually did it on Tuesday.
Close enough. In theory, agents and teams that have given their word, could ruin their reputations by backing out of verbal agreements on Wednesday.
Was the schedule the same with the tampering period starting on Monday last year? The AI thing I read said they announce prior to the tampering period and the start of the league year.
Yeah, tampering started Monday, announced the picks Tuesday. The year prior they announced the comp picks the Friday before the tampering period.
