I’ll say Jared Goff is a top 5 , but opinions vary…
Lamar, Allen, Tua, Mahomes are all definitely above Goff IMO.
Herbert, Burrows, Hurts, Lawrence, Stafford are all right there with him.
Purdy and Love are coming up.
His production as a passer on this team had him neck-and-neck with Dak Prescott. Both are top-5 in several stats.
As a guy you’d build around from scratch, there may be more than 5 you’d start with. But as a fit for the team that’s built around them, he’s right there at 4/5-ish. We are so good all around him with Bookend tackles, pro-bowl center, weapons across the board and probably more help coming this draft. Easy top-10, really top-5.
thanks Line means a lot coming from you…
I have Goff somewhere around 10.
I cannot see Goff being 10th-# 10…that is where I’d put Love… Love is not , as good as Goff !!
I’m always in between 8-14 on Goff depending on how he’s playing at the moment.
I’d clearly take the following before Jared:
Mahomes
Lamar
Burrow
Allen
Stafford
Herbert
Dak
Stroud
So that would put him at 9. I probably still put Twevva over him. Cousins if he returns to his former self is up there. I think Kyler is likely to have a monstrous 2024 and move back up into the high teens at least. I’m still a big believer in that talent. Rodgers
Hurts ![]()
33rd
Agreed. I have him Top 15 without a doubt. 7-10 feels about right
And the jumble between 7-10 is all close and position with that range is highly debatable
It’s bifurcated. Top 5 when protected. Bottom 10-12 when not.
It’s still football season in Detroit and Jared Goff is a huge part of the reason.
QB1
I really and truly don’t give a ■■■■ how the talking heads rank him.
You forgot Stroud.
8-12
You give him a clean pocket and he can make all the throws. Problem is that it’s a mobile quarterback’s game now, and he’s not a mobile quarterback.
It’s going to matter soon because his contact is almost up. I don’t want to pay top five money for the 12th best quarterback. We’re going to need that money for Sewell, ARSB, and other first contract players. Plus we’re going to need an interior rusher and we need to do something about the secondary.
I have him in that 6-11 area.
At same time, team and offense is geared to his strengths and I’m thrilled he is the QB no matter where he is “ranked”.
Well put because you can’t evaluate him in isolation. I’d have pressured Goff even lower.
Not sure about Hurts and Tua after this weekend.
I’m not sure it’s a static thing. I think there’s times when he’s easily a top 3-5 QB and other times he’s a 10-12 QB. I think that’s his floor really.
Not sure any QB is consistently in the top 3-5 except for the rare GOATS like Brady, Rodgers, Montana etc…
I didn’t want an argument ![]()
Clearly. And my Twevva-doubt-a-meter is starting to beat.
I know many will think I’m crazy as they did with my preseason Lamar takes.
So here it is: Kyler is now the single most underrated QB in the league. He’s 1 of 1 talent wise. One of the closest things to Barry Sanders that we’ve seen when in space and it’s a plus-plus arm with tons of baseball experience. He carried Kliff Kingsbury for a time. Kingsbury is an attorcious Head Coach.
The height has to be worked around but there is a ton of there, there.
Like Kyler on the Vikings… Abslutely not!
