Cracking the code with Brad Holmes 1st round Selections

So listened to 971 yesterday and they think they cracked the code on who The Lions will draft this year.

There are 3 key factors.
1 top 50 prospect.
2 High RAS Score. (Top 5 in position and 9.00+)
3 Brad is in Person at the College Pro Days.

That checks the boxes for all of Brads past 1st round picks (and even most early 2nd)
Sewell, Hutch, Williams, Gibbs, Campbell, LaPorta, Hooker.

So with that in mind who does that apply too?
Theres 7 players.

5 of them they may have to trade up for. They COULD be there at 29 but not likely.

Zone CB - Cooper DeJean - Iowa
CB - Quinyon Mitchell - Toledo
CB - Terrion Arnold - Alabama
DE - Jared Verse - Florida St
WR - Adoni (AD) Mitchell- Texas

The next 2 he could take at 29 or move back. Or move up from the late 2nd

OLB - Chop Robinson - Penn St
DT - Braden Fiske - Florida St

If thats the list I LOVE IT

In fact, I think they like his teammate Arnold better!

If Brad saw AD Mitchell pro day….
then Byron Murphy should be on the list as well.

Xavier Worthy too.

Though honestly I think Murphy would be the only one Brad’s interested in.

I think murphy is lower on the over all DT list like 8th or 9th. But its a good possibility. Ill add it.

Worthy has a 9+ ras but hes like 15th for WRs

Also, I don’t think Brad was at the Texas pro day. All I can see is we sent scouts.

Murphy has the best odds of being the first defensive player drafted as of right now. 8th or 9th on the overall DT list?

Murphy is the #1 or #2 DT on most rankings I have seen.
Bucky Brooks has him mocked as 1st defensive player off the board.

What if their RAS is incomplete. Johnny Newton for instance.

Oh in prospect rankings hes top 3

But in RAS rankings hes out of the top 5 for DTs

He had a 9.2 RAS…. #140 since 1985.

I’m not sure there are 5 DTs with better RAS scores.

In fact I can’t find where Brad Holmes attended ANY pro day this year except Alabama. So I think that is probably not as big a factor in the decision. Unless we just draft all Alabama, which I suppose is possible.

Branch does not fit the criteria bc of RAS.
Sewell is .02 short but we’ll round that one up.

I think the criteria is for 1st rd and high 2nd rd.
Branch went later.

Based on what i can find theres 9 DTs with higher RAS than Murphy.

That top 5 doesn’t matter, they just need to be high. If 5 guys scored 9.99 and the 6th scored 9.98, Brad wouldn’t pass on him because of that.
