Glad to see him admitting this season is a failure. That’s exactly how I see it to. Maybe Josh Reynolds wasn’t the only guy we have that chokes in big games. Seems we might have others.
The defense had maybe 6-7 backups taking major minutes.
The NFL is built so that it is damn hard to win it all and even harder to win all the time. The reason is that you can only stack so much talent based on the cost model.
So when you have injured to key players injured it is like losing players to salary cap issues. But worse because you do not have a “cheap” replacement that might be as good.
I think it is the Ravens or Bills year anyway.
The Lions will be back and they will learn from this. This is how you build up a franchise.
It does piss you off a little when you realize the Commanders in the last 2 weeks have matched the playoff success of the Lions in the last 67 years. Maybe even surpassed it because we didn’t pull off a huge upset like they did. We beat 2 teams we were supposed to beat.
I’m still trying to process what happened last night. We had homefield advantage throughout the playoffs and a week off and we got the ever loving shit beat out of us.
Arguably best young QB in football. He doesn’t play like a rookie. We have a vet that sometimes does play like a rookie. Beat up defense with too many injuries.
Regardless this was my favorite lions season to watch In a long time. Be happy we have a Super Bowl caliber roster. On to next year. Keep the bad taste in your mouth and let it motivate you.
Jeez man, the guy is pouring his heart out after the team lost a gut wrenching game taking the blame for it mind you and you trash the guy?
Yeah they choked in the moment and it’s disappointing but this is harsh. The reality is that it’s very hard to win a Superbowl, Campbell and Holmes have brought this franchise to heights that none of us imagined it could get to and it’s just the beginning so while I get the disappointment and I sure was big time in the heat of the moment last night, maybe show this guy some respect for what he’s done. Just my opinion
It’s getting old. I don’t need to be reminded that Dan feels terrible when his team chokes
How many seasons are we supposed “appreciate” the lions choking in the final game of the season and then pat Dan on the back for being so emotional about it?
In case you didn’t notice, we were the overwhelming best team in the NFL.
And we didn’t make it as far as last year. We went One-And-Done as big favorites at home.
A lot of fans here starting to sound pretty damn entitled. From 2018-2022 we won 26 games. The last two years we won 27. Maybe this quick success is a little too much for some fans. Some fans I think would rather go through winning an average of 5 games per season than have a successful season and lose in the playoffs.
For me….i’ll take hope for next season rather than the despair of thinking it will never get better.
