Daniel Jeremiah first round mock 3.0

lol talk about overreaction. is this irony week?

Lol. It’s irony every week.

Spoon and Kancey. I’m fine with it. If the draft goes that way I’d hope that Levis was in demand. If not I’d be fine with any of the next three picks at 6. Either corner or Tyree would be my guess.

I just can’t get on board with Kancey. I just don’t see him doing anything that Paschal can’t do already. We just don’t need another situational pass rusher. We have enough guys that can move inside on 3rd down. We need a real DT that can also play on 1st and 2nd down.

Paschal can’t rush the passer like Kancey can. I do think he’s likely a specialist so that does worry me but I think he can fill a need. I prefer AA tbh (and Carter of course).

If I had to take a DT at 18 I would take Benton or Mazi before Kancey. Of course I hope we take Carter at 6 so it would be a non issue. I just see Kancey as this years Nakobe Dean. A productive player in college that the public loves falling to the 3rd rd because his skill set just don’t project to the next level. Mel Kiper and the crew can’t understand why everyone keeps passing on him. lol

I don’t want to take any DT outside of Carter in an ideal world.

I’m with you, not in the first rd anyhow.

Sorry. Yes. I meant the first round. I do want to add a young DT.

Can Timme play in the NBA?

cute stat…. Denzel Ward was 183 pounds.
Adoree Jackson somehow weighed 186 pounds… but I think he must have ate 27 bagels for breakfast.

Seems like a very specific weight is used to eliminate the stud from the convo…
.

  1. Still doesn’t change it being an outlier bc you found one success near the weight. It’s the Aaron Donald outlier for DTs.
  2. Ward tested at his weight at the combine. Witherspoon didn’t. It could be water weight and he is even lighter at his playing weight.

there have been a ton of CBs play in the 185-190 range… it isn’t a big enough difference to ignore the physical play he showed on tape against power 5 competition.

To double down on this point I was just listening to the radio and a few nfl talking heads were saying “you might take him out on run downs and bring him in on pass downs”

If that is true, how can he be a fit for us?

I think the point I was making is he probably doesn’t play at 181, pry mid 170s. He likely pulled the same move Bryce Young did.

Ward’s is easier to trust bc he worked out at 185.

I don’t want this to turn into whether you/me like Witherspoon or not. I was responding to the idea that ppl beat up Kancey and Young as an outlier but then ignore Witherspoon.

Witherspoon had a hamstring issue… so it could also have caused him to train less and possibly lose a little weight when not able to workout much.:thinking::thinking:

Right. Don’t we already have a glut of players that can rotate in on passing downs?
