David Montgomery to Detroit goodbye jamaal

Very saddened by this. I wish him the best obviously, but damn. When he has his opening presser with his new team, I will watch sitting alone in a dark room with a box of Puffs and combating the feelsies like a bad breakup

I’m also feeling better after everyone’s comments. Didn’t know much about him. I think the fact that it’s a 3 year deal means Swift is gone when his contract is up.

David Johnson was from Northern Iowa and they really had nothing in common. Not sure why anyone would even compare them. When the Bears drafted him my comment was, ā€œThe Bears just got rid of Jordan Howard and moved up to get…Jordan Howard.ā€ Now, some people might think that is a slight, it isn’t. Howard was very, very good in his first couple years with the Bears. He isn’t a capable receiver so that kind of sunk his future. DM is a DC guy, smart, and he’s going to light it up.

Is Bijan fully in play now?

runs…

From what I remember, besides stopping fields, Montgomery was the one guy on the bears offense you had to try to keep in check.

I like how he hits the hole hard in these select clips. He can slide n cut as the hole develops.

A few weeks ago I was watching an interview with Aidan Hutchinson. The host asked Hutch a question along the lines of ā€œeverybody in the NFL is talented. But was there anyone that sticks out that surprised you.ā€ Hutch said David Montgomery…the first time he tried to tackle him.

Yeah. Honestly, I feared him more than Cook in Minny.

If the Lions were to draft Bijan, swift would be traded.

I highly doubt Bijan is in play though.

Comparing DMONT to Jordan Howard is way off. He’s a David Johnson clone running and receiving

This is, uh…

unexpected

2020 was what I had meant to post. Pre- Fields. Finished 5th in the entire league both rushing and all purpose yards.

We could trade him or keep him He’s dirt cheap

Im not so sure. If Swifty is gone next yr, it still makes sense to grab Bijan or Gibbs

They will.

they will (it’ll be the rook)

1200 yards a year with Trubisky, Foles, Dalton, and Fields at the helm…. and one of the worst WR groups in the NFL.

He might be able to improve on that number….
which was… oh yes… 1200 yards a year….

I think Bijan is probably less in play now but I never thought he would be available at 18 anyway.

The draft got a whole lot more intriguing after these last 2 days. I didn’t think Holmes would splurge this much in free agency so this opens up the draft flexibility far more than 48 hours ago.
Personally, I want to see a D-lineman at 6. Carter, Anderson, Wilson, maybe even Kancey.

You aren’t keeping a backfield in tact of Bijan/Montgomery/Swift.

Swift would certainly be dealt if we took Bijan. But we won’t so moot
