David Tepper "enamored" with Ben Johnson

They would probably have to give more than any other team to get same division trade.

Lions need Ernie Accorsi to consult with Tepper…
that would definitely help keep Ben here…

Priceless!!! Well played

LOL

He (Ben) should definitely be looking at these GM situations and comparing to our own. They’re as responsible for his success as he is.

Don’t under estimate MC/DC input on the offense……

If Ben leaves, I think Tanner is our next OC……

I tend to agree… unless he goes with Ben. I think they’re pretty tight.

I agree, but what did that have to do with my “not so serious” post?

I doubt Tanner would pass up the keys to this offense and instead opt for so much uncertainty.

Though I think in both spots he’s not the initial playcaller.

Although if it’s Reich then he’d go. My guess is it would be Reich.

The other name was Tanner

No clue what you asking. I just replied in general to thread.

If I replied to your post just his hit wrong reply button on mobile site but looking back my post is just a general reply.

Fair enough

Saints may not be willing to trade Payton within the division. They can use their veto power if they want to. They may want only one first rounder from other teams, may insist on two first rounders from the Panthers.

Why would they not want to keep Payton?
I’m confused
I thought he retired?
How is a retired coach tradable?

He’s young too. Not a lot of young HC’s in the league but the McVay effect has created a stir in owner circles looking for the next great young offensive mind.

If hired he’d be tied for the youngest HC in the NFL.

He is under contract until 2024 i believe so Saints will require a trade

He doesn’t want to coach in NO, but he wants to coach elsewhere? Wowza

Hopefully Dallas loses and a couple more viable candidates come onto the market.

Just watched Burrow change every single play at the LOS before the snap while marching down the field for a TD. We saw that kind of growth with Goff this season, what a talented vet can do at QB that doesn’t replace the OC, but certainly is a huge plus in the event that we were to lose Ben. It WILL be hard to replace what Ben has done if he were to leave, but the growth of the O while he was here means that it’s a lot easier to move on.

New Orleans really screwed themselves cap wise by mortgaging the future to try to win when Brees was still there and they are still doing it today. They’ve got do a rebuild (which they aren’t) and Payton doesn’t/didn’t want to be a part of it. NO is a crappy situation to rebuild.

and as noted by @starman91, he’s still under contract with the Saints and would require a trade.

Man - When you have a guy like Payton, you let him call the shots and proceed as he sees fit, so you can retain him.

Maybe he takes the OC job in Detroit if Ben leaves

On Fire GIF

I would not be opposed to Frank Reich as OC…
