Tipping off the season in about 45 minutes. Just wanted to get your guys thoughts on how you think this year will go? They won 44 games last year and I think they will do a little bit better - maybe flirt with 50. Cade is really turning into a superstar. If our new three-point guns can have good years, it could be a very fun season. We were an ass whisker away from beating New York. I think we might be second or third in the East. Bickerstaff is better than I thought. He develops guys for sure.
Bring back the Laimbeer and Rodman era of bringing the pain in the paint.
That’s all I got. ![]()
I feel like I’m one of the few hardcore Pistons fans left.
I think they can get to the 4 seed and hopefully win a series in the playoffs. Cade takes another step forward but my hot take is Holland takes a BIG leap this year.
That was a great era for sure. Even the 04 squad was pretty physical. I would push that 3 point line out a little further - to a distance where 30% is considered a good made percentage. This would probably eliminate the sideline 3s, which would be ok. Make them play ball. Offense and defense.
Pistons drew the 10th largest crowds (no, not in a Canadian way) in the league last year. You’re not alone brother.
I love basketball so don’t get me wrong. I actually coached high school basketball for about 10 years… The nba to me though is kinda like WWE with dribbling here and there
But high school and college ball is pretty darn good
Anyways Go Pistons.
Curious to see how Levert and Robinson meld into the offense. Who’s gonna replace the 3 point range that Beasley brought. Will be nice when Ivey gets back on the floor as well.
Ivey is the key that unlocks some playoff wins.
Also upgrading Harris woukd be nice. And Ausar getting a jumper…like in 27.
I think Duncan is a big downgrade to Beasley and LaVert to Ivey. Holland needs to take that big leap. Maybe he can but between he and Ausar someone’s offense has to at least show some semblance of skill attainment.
Those 3 things in order is what I’d like to see.
Oh and Beef Stew actually knocking someone’s internal organ external, just because 1988.
Oh and AND
For Duren to not be ALWAYS in foul trouble.
Amen.
Picks up two fouls in like 4 minutes. ![]()
This is starting to look like a Dan Campbell first game of the season special.
Offense is hot dogshit. Robinson and Harris are - 10 and -15 and the team has attempted just 6 three pointers in 19 minutes, hitting 1, by backup to the backup center Paul Reid.
Disgusting. It’s almost like No One Can Get Their Own Shot besides Cade. Yknow like last year?
Oh and Duren has 0 boards in 8 minutes with 12 minutes on the bench.
Edit- Duren sat for 2/3 of thr 1st half. Vucevic ate his lunch knocked him down and pissed in his face. 15 and 12 first half.
If only there was a preseason where the Pistons could have worked some of these things out. ![]()
We are seeing inconsistencies from both teams tonight. It’s a game of runs. Can the Pistons stop them enough times to catch them? I say yes.
played Robinson 30 minutes. 2 points, 0-5 from 3. 0 rebounds assists steals blocks, 1 turnover. Garbage.
Stew 20 and 10 4 blocks off the bench
Holland 20 off bench. Cade 7-22, Harris meh. Duren 6 boards and Vuc ate him up.
No Coby White for Chicago.
Not a good start.
Yeah they looked out of sorts. Hoping they gel in the next few weeks. That was certainly a winnable game.
The Detroit Pistons lose the first game of the season, playing lackluster, thereby freaking out the majority of the fanbase.
The Tigers, Lions and Red Wings:

How long until the “trade for Giannis” talk starts?
Hopefully their performance in the last 18 minutes of the game—coming back from down over 20 to almost win it is a good sign.
