Us fans dont deserve this crap. God i feel like were just as bad as Cleveland. Can us fans get a GM that can take at least one team to next level.
Only Minneapolis/St. Paul has a longer Finals appearance drought of any city that has at least 3 teams in the major American sports leagues (NFL/NBA/MLB/NHL).
Its going to keep repeating.
I feel like I’m watching the second half of the Lions/49rs game right now
But at least vikings have been to the SB. Minnesota pro hockey went to Dallas for years. Detroit gms just seem fine with making the playoffs or for Yzerman case hes just happy being back home
Why did you say that…lol
The Lions at least showed up for the 1st half. This was disappointing.
I’m thinking about just how much time I’ve wasted in my life being a fan of these teams, because it’s a lot.
That might have been worse. Because im pretty sure we all thought the lions had it. Then they turned into sol
Deserve what? Detroit teams as a whole are in a far better position than most other cities, especially over the last 5 seasons or so.
Hang in there at least you osu football. Ive got Detroit teams. A old man in college basketball and a bottom big ten football team.
Love the spin move. What have lions done? Oh we were a quarter away from. SB. They won 15 games then got beat to the ground by a rookie qb. Pistons who cares they won 60. Tigers had the top sp in baseball history and zero rings. And the dead wings they certainly know how not to March on to the playoffs. If you are happy with that, then bless you tiny tim
It’s entertainment, nothing more nothing less. If entertainment stresses you to this level, then I would suggest finding another outlet that doesn’t.
Some people’s entertainment is griping about their teams.
I mean, we’re on a Lions board in the middle of May. I think we’re all swimming in the same pool here…
Oh man. I know a few of these. Nothing is ever good enough, everything will go wrong, they are happy for about two days (IF and ONLY IF you win a championship), and then it’s back to the same. It’s exhausting.
Detroit GMs are scared to make moves. Winning with status quo is job security and because the teams have been bad for so long, it’s accepted behavior from the fans IMO
Making moves doesn’t guarantee anything, though. And there are certainly times when making no move would be better than making a bad move for the sake of making a move.
Fans love to dream of the perfect trade or move that was never offered to a GM and then complain when said GM doesn’t make the fantasy-land move that was never available to them to begin with.
Yep. 100%.
In the last 3 years, I’ve seen:
- The best Lions season of my life. And the best 3-4 year run as a Lions fan probably ANYONE outside of the fans in the 1950s have seen. With a roster that is insanely talented from top to bottom.
- The best pitcher in baseball win 2 Cy Youngs and the Tigers have 2 amazing, crazy finishes (though the exact opposite reasons) and make some noise in the playoffs.
- The Pistons come out of no where to have a 60-win season, win the east, and win their first playoff series in nearly 20 years while getting to see an MVP-caliber season from Cade.
- The Wings play exciting hockey until after the ASB in 3 straight seasons. They’re incredibly mid, but the future is promising with their farm system.
And I’m supposed to be pissed off because no one won a championship?

Goal is to win it all.
