Detroit Tigers

There was a full article on Keith in one of the Detroit Papers in the last day or two. The article discussed the change he made in his swing with the assist of the two new hittiing coaches. He noticed and reached out the end of April and implemented the change throughout May. Supposedly been doing much better since then.

I see the Hinchian June NoseDive™️ has increased to

Two smiley faces emoji…

… the blind squirrel found a nut the other day, but, that aside, the swoon is full on… :laughing:

This might be his best June NoseDive yet, half a month to go, but it’s lookin’ promising…

Skubal with another start next Wednesday.
Meanwhile Manning:
Matt Manning will make another rehab start next week, Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said. He threw his full arsenal last night for

@MudHens

and felt good.

His performance last night:

Matt Manning allowed an unearned run on 5 singles over 3+ innings with a walk and 2 K’s in his second rehab start for Triple-A Toledo. He threw 36 of 59 pitches for strikes. Fastball averaged 94.5 mph, topped out at 96, according to Statcast.

Has there been any word on mize?

Rodriuez starts throwing this Saturday. Curious what the demand is, if any.

Eduardo Rodriguez, LHP, Tigers — If he’s healthy, Rodriguez will be right up there with Giolito as the starter most likely to be traded at the deadline. Rodriguez has been working his way back after suffering a ruptured A4 pulley in his left index finger. He posted a 2.13 ERA in 11 starts before the injury and has an opt-out clause in his contract after this season. Contending teams will be lining up and prepared to overpay with a prospect package if he returns to form.

With today’s win against KC the Tigers are 6-1 in series play against the AL Central. So when you see they are winning with no Greene or Eduardo just look at who they are playing

Skubal is starting for Erie tonight if you MLB.tv

Detroit Tigers right-hander Casey Mize, the 2018 No. 1 overall pick recovering from Tommy John surgery, stood on the mound in the bullpen before Wednesday’s game at Comerica Park.

Pitching coach Chris Fetter, video coordinator Austin Tripp and fellow pitcher Matt Manning watched from behind the mound, with Tripp’s iPad receiving pitch data from TrackMan technology. Assistant pitching coach Robin Lund and athletic trainer Ryne Eubanks watched from the side of the bullpen while standing on the warning track and peering through the fence.

Bullpen catcher Tim Remes crouched exactly 55 feet away from Mize.

“It’s been over a year,” Mize said in the Tigers’ clubhouse, following the 10-pitch short box bullpen session. “This is what I love to do. It’s good to get the first one down. I have about 100 of them to go.”

Yea, making up for losing Tigstown a few years back.
Manning pitches tomorrow.
Skubal today:

Tarik Skubal allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings with a walk and 4 K’s in his rehab start for
@MudHens
this afternoon. Both runs scored on an Andrew Stevenson HR on Skubal’s final pitch. He threw 32 of 52 pitches for strikes, including 19 fastballs averaging 95.9 mph.

Tarik Skubal threw 2.2 innings at Toledo today. 52 pitches, 32 strikes. Struck out four, walked one. Gave up two runs, a homer to left-handed hitting Andrew Stevenson. Looked like he was dealing with a blister issue on his finger.

Those were the good days. Miss Tigstown

Still see Wezner and Anderson on twitter occasionally. Was a good group over there.

Why did it leave? You , me , and @Weaselpuppy , and few others were over there all time.

Paul and Mark started it when single, then got married then started having kids, then moved up the corporate ladder so to speak at their jobs. Just didn’t have the time to do it anymore life got in the way. Site is still up just not active.

Someone asked Paul recently if it would ever come back, didn’t say yes, didn’t say no.

Riley Greene on the field throwing with Akil Baddoo, no air cast on his left leg. He said Wednesday he was just about done having to wear it. Cones are set up in the wet grass, so it looks like they’ll be doing some straight-line running, too.
