Disc Golf!?

I had a good buddy who played competitively and we talked about going all the time and him teaching me. I was really interested in it but we were both so busy we just couldn’t coordinate the time to go.

Then one day I hear he passed from a heart attack while playing the game. I do miss the guy and still haven’t played the game. I saw a course the other day and was thinking how I’d like to play it someday.

@edmunder what are your favorite courses in the UP?

I know the season is ending soon but really enjoyed playing the past 5 months… Hoping to hit some new courses in Michigan in the spring.

With the tendonitis to my shoulder, to the point I can’t even throw a football anymore, disc golf is not gonna happen. Looks like fun though.

And you know what… side arm throws still work for me. My right shoulder is still ■■■■■■. But if thrown sidearm… We good

Throwing a disc like a baseball… Yea game over

@stephenboyd57 I’ve never played in the UP. My area is mostly from South Haven Lake Arvesta course all the way up to Traverse City or Petoskey. The west coast of MI has a bunch of absolute gems and so I can go 2-3 hours north or south and play 100 courses.

Sorry I cant help.

Did you learn more about the flight numbers on the discs? What are you go to 1-2 discs that you throw?

As long as I can keep by elbow at around my waist, I should be good.

I found some decent drivers. Couple a putters that aint bad.

I got an Innova Thunderbird that flies well. Probably my fav driver.

I don’t suck anymore. But even when I was terrible it was still fun.

I can par a few long holes. Gotta work on putting and mid range but been a fun new hobby

Cheers bud
