Draft talk 2025/2026

See I think Downs at least covers a spot we could use. I don’t know what will happen with the safeties we have. Maybe they come back 100%. If they do, I still think there is a huge role for Caleb Downs. McCoy is a little more problematic in that if Arnold pans out he is a little redundant when we have so many other needs. But if he is a All Pro caliber CB who cares right? We score. That is how Brad does things. And you know maybe Arnold plays nickel or converts to DB/S? The perfect plan though logistically seems to be to take a LT, C, or DE in the first round, if that makes sense.

I tend to do that with T/C/DE and the occasional LB like Styles

Styles too. Because he’d be a full time starter that needs replacing as well. Well, I’m assuming here but AA is getting pretty long in the tooth. And Styles IMO is probably at top 10 player this draft is you strip away positional value

100%. Or Reed or McCoy could shift inside. We’d make room for him, no problem. A twosome going forward of Arnold and McCoy could be the league’s best tandem.

I have him top 3

When boss lets you just chill for 30 minutes

The trade is kind of an out there trade

Back to back natties for him. How many people have done that on different teams?

Zen Michalski is looking to win back to back nattys on Indiana.

This one probably means a hell of a lot more to him.

Winning the big, and going undefeated is special.

McLaughlin was like four yards away from doing so.

Yay.

Brad and Dan love a good chip on the shoulder.

He is so us. I hate that the whole world knows how great he is now. He’s too small to rise as high as Spoon did, but he’s gonna go A LOT higher than everyone expects right now. Late 1st maybe.

I think he sneaks into the first as well. Mostly bc there are like 15-16 real first rounders and he clearly would be one if he were two inches taller.

C’mon. Don’t twist words. Who ever said deJean was a “can’t miss”?

My original verbiage was:

Of course, there’s no such thing as a can’t miss.

I wouldn’t either, if it was apples to apples. He traded up to get Terrion, as I’m sure you know. So the comp is something like Terrion vs. deJean PLUS Cooper Beebe.

IMO too. That’s my point. I’m not sure I’ve ever heard Brad say that sometimes we need to draft for need, though. Have you?

Accusation? To be clear, he committed no crime. Big misunderstanding here, made worse by inflammatory words like “pretty wild accusation”, and “Just because you had DeJean higher on your draft board”.

Like I said, the comparison should be something like Terrion vs. deJean + Beebe. If Brad had stated at our orginal pick and picked Terrion over deJean, that would have been more palatable. Even though we picked up CD3 in free agency. But chances are Terrion wouldn’t have been there. And we would possibly have been better off.

I think that is the real problem. Wasn’t it Dorsey who talked him out of trading up for… Levi? Sewell? I just wish he would more often observe Dorsey’s mantra: “Let the draft come to you” (of course not always, I’m not saying that). But his trading up seems to have become an issue.

I think I’m out on this one – you can have the last word if you want. I do appreciate your invaluable insights on college players.

Terrion was generally speaking thought I be going between pick 12-15 or thereabouts.

I loved DeJean. Thought he was a top ten player. I thought he could play outside and excel though tbh we don’t really know that for sure. But we really needed an outside CB and Arnold profiles there better.

I think a relevant question is why not go up a bit higher and grab Quinyon who was a cleaner outside CB prospect (although nearly two years older).

I think it is important to keep in mind that you are comparing theoretically the most difficult setup for an outside CB to a system in Philadelphia that protects their corners in a fashion generally preferred throughout the league. It’s a difficult comp to make.

Personally I think Arnold is about to be awesome. Breakout incoming.

I was a big copper fan coming out of the draft. Kid is playing maker.

Man, I’m rooting for this but it hasn’t looked good so far.

Yeah. My son is an Eagles fan and we both needed corners. Both of our top three rankings were: Quinyon, Cooper, Terrion.

After the draft he was elated. I was not!

I think it’s mostly looked fine. Had the penalty issue in his rookie year and had some bad injury luck in year 2. He’a sticky. He’s got to get better finding the ball and not panic at the catch point and in recovery but he’s very close IMO. And he absolutely need to quit vacating his contain responsibility in the run game. That’s my biggest issue with him tbh.

I don’t think people are understanding how much we put on CBs. Look at the drop off in play when TA is out.

My recommendation would be to try and let go of your priors and see if TA can win you over next year.
