Dusty May leaves Michigan to take the Dallas Mavericks HC job

May had it good at AA.

I’m pro NIL.

I haven’t seen this mentioned here yet before that I can recall. Talking w some folks in athletics the worst part about NIL isnt the player’s being able to transfer all the time now.

I guess the worst part is, is that the players are now making enough money to support their circles. Meaning in some cases the circles are coming with them. Making the players that much more difficult to mentor/coach as the circles often aren’t the best of influences

Not to mention that he wont have to be traveling all over trying to recruit every year.

Does Ed or Charles O’Bannon get any retro pay on this whole NIL deal?

Yep, after my initial reaction of dafuq anger calmed down, if someone woulda told me three years ago mich was gonna hire a coach who would win them a natty in year two in his two year tenure, then leave for the nba, I’d sign up for that that allllll day.

Valenti said it about perfectly… College sports is full of whores now… It is what it is, hire em for what you need (players and coaches) and they leave for the next best thing afterwards. Nothing wrong with it, it is what it is. People who are mad are hanging onto a reality that doesn’t exist anymore.

Almost perfectly

The correct statement is

“College is full of whores now”

Looking at the MSU Athletic Program as a whole I shudder to think what the BB would have looked like the last 25 years without Izzo. Would I have preferred another Natty or 2? Absolutely but I appreciate the program Izzo has run and I doubt anyone would have put up with the level of BS he has all these years. I am a Spartan through and through but that place needs to get their shite together. It is shocking how poorly run it is due to many factors. And when you realize the resources they have and that are squandered you really begin to ask how the BOT can look themselves in the eye and feel good about what they have accomplished.

So I will take Izzo fighting the good fight to overcome that places leadership or lack of it.

Didn’t he get Cade because Cades brother was on the staff?

OSU head coach Mike Boynton on Tuesday announced the hiring of former SMU player Cannen Cunningham, Cade’s older brother, as full-time Cowboys assistant coach.

For them to stay. It would be very odd if one player doesn’t leave.

That certainly helped, yes, but he got Cade’s brother because he was a great recruiter. Everyone recruiting Cade knew that’s how you had to go.

My immediate reaction to that Final Four game was that Dusty May is a Flaggott. Proven right once again.

Now?

How is that tampering?
