@Nate I have been there. I can top it though. Christmas eve and while I am doing what you just described my 7 months pregnant wife is also puking and dying and our 2 year old is wondering WTF is going on. I hope you are feeling better brother.

Well Nate, let’s start with those that had the resurgence.
Darnold, Jones, Mayfield, Smith, (to a degree) and Goff are all talented enough to bounce around until they find themselves into that opportunity that allows them to shine. Goff bounced to us and grew. The others bounced more. But all were good enough to stick around. All were humble enough to do what they needed to be part of a team. All eventually bloomed in a system that made better use of who they were.
Jones, Wilson, Rosen, Fields??? well I would suggest we wait before we completely start tossing dirt. But they certainly haven’t had the opportunity in the system that showcases their talents.
So to your question, are teams dumb? Some certainly are. Trying to force a skillset that doesn’t work in a scheme will return frustration regularly. Toss in that there is a very limited window to impact the view on said QBs talents. High drafted QBs will generally go to a bad team that sucks at developing QBs. Rare are the Mahomes (watch Alex Smith for a year) for Love (watch Aaron Rodgers for 4 years) situations where QBs can truly develop at a more conducive timetable for success.
Old guy view. Used to be a five-year plan to turn a franchise around. Now there is a one-year plan to do the same. Well it still takes five years, but you better show huge ass improvement quickly or you will never see the completion. QBs are much the same.
