After week 1 Love had one of the shortest time to throws in the NFL and I was told it didn’t matter because of pressure rate and hits. Now it does.

If the QB has no time to throw but also theres no pressure. That just means the QB is getting it out quick.
ONLY if theres both that means you have a good DL. Ie what happened last week. Philly got pressure AND goff time to throw was fast

Garrett has been on a real heater but also had a 5 game stretch earlier in the year that he only got home on 2 snaps total… not saying hutch cant and shouldn’t do more but we sure like hyperbolic comments around here

Well a “QB hit” that isn’t a sack is really just another way of saying he got there too late to affect the play. These days where you can’t hurt a QB not matter how you hit him or you’ll get a penalty, it’s a nice “nearly there” stat. Little more. Am I ready to bench Hutch? No. Am I seeing exactly what I thought I’d see this season, post Draft/FA…. yep. We won’t win a SB like this unfortunately. Take Hutch out of the game and don’t worry about all the other fat guys and UDFA’s that are chasing you with their feet in cement. It’s just getting a little easier to take Hutch out of the game as I don’t think he is all the way back from his injury strength wise.

He started early on a bunch of plays.
Personal opinion is that we need to give Hutch a few more plays off. 94% of plays at the intensity he plays with is a lot. Maybe he is a little better if he is a little fresher. Most teams spell their DE pass rushers. Of course that brings up the point that Hutch is NOT just a pass rusher. He is very strong at setting the edge. Something a lot of these pass rushers can’t do.

I don’t know. Is a win even a stat that counts for anything? Like, it doesn’t even tell the whole story. What even does a win mean? So many other teams get wins, so it’s not like the Lions should be happy to get a win. Wins are just made up stats from people who are coping

This guy must have just finished “How to look like an idiot to your teammates 101”. Yes I know we just gave up the lead AGAIN and lost another game but did you see how ineffective Hutch was? And how about those hotdogs after the game - they were tasty. Priorities!
Pressures is a really weird stat. Of course you want your guys to have a lot of them, but they also seem a little like counting “really nice swings that were still strikes,” in baseball.
Do guys get credited with a pressure when they also register a sack?

Who cares about a pressure when the result of the play was a 30 yard pass

Alright this gives some meaning to the stat. It still leaves you with the conundrum that high pressure numbers could be completely divorced from team success though.
I think Hutch is elite and a star for years to come, I just think we are all waiting on a monster 4 sack game from him and anything less seems underwhelming.
