Bad positional value.

I wonder what our draft grades would be now in hindsight?
Campbell is looking like a waste of a first round pick. Not that he’s bad but there were better players on the board
I’d be interested to hear who we should have taken instead.
Who knew Anzalone was going to have the best season of his NFL career?
Who knew that Barnes was going to show such dramatic improvement?
Particularly the latter, I don’t think the Lions front office predicted that would happen. Had they known, maybe the Lions take a CB instead.
With the Anzalone injury a couple weeks ago, and with Barnes being out last week, I’d say that we were lucky to be so deep at LB.
He really doesn’t have much to do with the Campbell pick they play different positions , it’s Jack and Barnes is were the competition is. Jack has flashed as has Barnes next season will be interesting to see how it plays out. They Drafted Jack and then Barnes made a leep forward also. Might end up being a good problem to have if they both improve next year.
FontesMustGo must go.
I don’t agree with this at all. I think by the time the draft in review happens in a few years Jack C will not be close to waste of a pick.
I’m pretty sure they moved JC back to the middle when Anzalone was out , which is Jack’s natural position.
It kind of seems like we have 4-5 LB’s right now that are all interchangeable…and that is a good thing.

Had another great PFF grade !!!
But don’t you play that game when you go through each round and lament that the absolute perfect pick wasn’t made by your team? It’s a very productive activity.
A cb?
I feel like our LB’s don’t pop til year 3

Well, in that case I probably would have cut Iffy in September while sitting on my couch judging Holmes picks.

I don’t… I thought the nay sayers were full of crap when they doubted in the first place.
They have combined for 2000 yards and 20 TD’s.

Last night as my wife crashed, I watched the Inside The Den episode of our draft this year (Episode 3 I believe). It was awesome to watch sitting here right now with this class being so instrumental in this years run. Watching the interactions and how they felt about these guys was enlightening. They really do go about things differently and I’m coming to accept it, misses and all. Guys like Campbell and BroMart, I’m going to reserve judgement for a minute.
I heard his conversation with Spielman and he said (I’m paraphrasing) “One of the best things about your game is there is no wasted movement. I mean NONE. That will be a huge asset for you moving forward.” (Me again) We’ve seen a lot of false steps when Campbell has struggled this year. I think his head is swimming a bit, but they are still trusting him with the Green Dot and he is putting the guys in good positions. I believe things are going to slow down for him. When things do, it’s on.
He’s a tireless worker and has great coaching and mentors around him. Right now there is no question that 18OA was too high for what we are getting out of him. But the tale is not yet written with him. Re-watching his agility drills, it is quite amazing how fluid he is at his size. It’s like you are watching a 6’2 225lb WILL but he’s 6’5 243.
