Gibbs = Marshall Faulk?

I think that’s a really smart comparison. He stays healthy, we have a real stud.

Marcus Allen was a stud for me on Super Tecmo Bowl

Well, at least people are making reasonable comps and not setting unrealistic expectations…

KIRK GIBSON IS THE NEXT MICKEY MANTLE!!!

Trying to save the kid. I like the thought of “you’re not the next anyone, you’re the next you”

Exactly! Faulk has a shaved head much of the time too.

So when Faulk got to the NFL, were you surprised that he was a good pass catcher?

Can we expect this?

Marshall Faulk may be a little ambitious. How about we start with a much more talented Theo riddick?

What’s the point in comparing him to someone who he is obviously more talented than??

I’m cool with it. Faulk redefined the role of RB. He was a weapon.

He did??

Haha nice! Both Gibbs and Jamo can return kicks. Not sure they will risk it, cause it’s a great way to get your 1st round picks injured. But, late in a game or during a big moment, might be worth the risk.

Yes he did.

How??

“ In the NFL, Faulk’s versatility, once a hindrance, became his calling card.

During his 12-year NFL career with the Colts and St. Louis Rams, Faulk redefined the running back position and became the archetype for modern-day backs such as Alvin Kamara and Christian McCaffrey. With his cat-quick elusiveness and sprinter’s speed, Faulk routinely made defenders look silly in the open field. Yet, he also had the power and toughness to run between the tackles, as evidenced by his 91 career red-zone touchdowns. He caught passes out of the backfield long before it became the norm for NFL backs. And he could pass protect like a sixth lineman.”

Faulk had almost 800 catches in his career. That is wild when you consider he was also carrying the ball 15-20 times per game. Faulk had more career catches than Megatron.

We all love Barry, heck he’s my favorite player of all time, but Faulk might be better when you really think about it. Faulk could just do so many different things well.

That Athletic article about Faulk emphasizes his football IQ. He understood not just the offense but what defenses were trying to do. Like a ‘coach on the field’

Because I believe he’s going to play the role that riddick played for the most part. They were also the same size and had a very similar skill set.

Before, for the most part, RB’s has an assigned role. They were RB’s. Faulk was a true dual threat for catching the ball or running it.

There were RBs before him that perfected that….guys like Roger Craig and Eric Metcalf…even Thurman Thomas
