Graham Glasgow—what happened, my guy?

So he couldn’t start at LG?

GG was essentially paid 7.2 mil to play this year.
6 mil to play next year.
7 mil to play in 2026 if he’s around.
If he is not here, it’s not due to money.
I think he’s staying.

Possible. Never thought of that. Always thought he looked best at center.

I’d like to get younger on the oline honestly. Hopefully Mahogany steps up and earns it next offseason. Younger and cheaper.

Graham needs to move to back up. His value is that he can play all 3 inside spot decent, this online is the strength of this team and Graham is the week link. I full expect us to draft a guy . And depends on what happens with Zietler but we could have 2 new Gs starting I think one will Mahogany. The other Zietler

Right. Look at the base & bonus paid out for 24. 7.2 mil.
The Base and bonus paid out for 25, 6 mil.

His contract was essentially a 3-year deal with the 1st year paid out as bonus for cap purposes. He could stay or he could go. Totally up to the team.

He’s not going anywhere, though.

This is my point.
If the cap hit to cut GG is +$5M,
and it cost at least $3M to sign Evan Brown,
That totals over $8M vs. $7M to keep GG.

RG is the only place GG could start.
I’m confident Mahogany will be starting somewhere. Most likely at LG with either Zeitler or GG at RG.
Brown played better than GG at LG in 2024.
GG played better than Brown when he was at RG in 2023.
If GG is back at RG in 2025 I’m not sure Brown would be better.
It’s not worth the hassle, free agent dollars or impacting the formula for possible comp picks.
If Zeitler doesn’t return and Holmes doesn’t trust GG or the other developmental IOL players to start, just go all in and select a replacement on day 2 of the draft.

His cap number for 25 is $7.4 million, that’s the number that matters. If he stays, fine, but he blows at LG and that’s too bad. I have no problem keeping him at RG, hell, look what we paid Big V to now and then play there. At LG you’re just asking for it. Tristan Wirfs didn’t play RT because he was a better RT than LT, it was because Alairic Jackson could not make the adjustment from LT to RT. So then he gets drafted to play RT. Great, this year he became the first OT ever to be named first team AP at Right and Left tackle, something Sewell may be second at when the time comes. Alairic was an UDFA even though he was first team Big 10 but now is the starting LT for the Rams. Some guys are absolutely never going to be get it figured out when you pluck them down somewhere else and you can move other guys around like chess pieces. GG has been serviceable in 2 positions and that’s OK, but again, leaving him at LG is simply asking for it.

I 100% disagree.
If they want more relief, convert his 5.5 mil base to bonus and spread it over 25, 26 and the option year 27.

Cap hit has 0.00% to do with GG’s position on the team. He’s cheap as a starter and worth every penny as a backup.

Center I feel like we can just keep taking stabs at late round development guys or UDFA

And when the time comes for Ragnow to go we can just draft the best Center that year

Let us not forget Ragnow is 28 and ALL PRO

He could be here a while still as long as pain management for his toe is ok

28???

That’s nuts!

We talk about him like he’s older than Decker.

Despite him being banged up a lot… He hasn’t missed many games in his career. Dude is one tough SOB! Hopefully he can play 2 more seasons and retire with 3 super bowl rings and get back to fishing!

I agree.
After this season GG should only play LG as an injury replacement.
Hell. Since Zeitler doesn’t look like he will play saturday I’d consider moving GG to RG and playing Mahogany at LG.
I wonder where they practiced this week.
Most likely mahogany slides in at RG so not to move too many players around from where they played all season.

And if he does return, with his PFF overall of 86.8, what’s the plan for GG?

Interior OL sub as he was when he was brought back.
In that event I would restructure his contract.
I would reduce the base to about $3.5M and give him incentives to win the starting job.
Every game he started would give him a bonus of about $250k to get his pay back to where it was.

Sounds good and I’m all in but what if he says no?

I’m lost.

GG is GG

Plug him in anywhere and he’s still GG.

He’s a Lion. If anything happens with money, it’s base-to-bonus.

The bigger question is whether Mahogany has displaced Zeitler and whether 'Yode has proven his potential as a starter.

Since they gave Mahogany a look several games ago, and since he passed with flying colors, I think he’s starting next year. Depending on his mobility, could be either LG or RG, I’m sure GG doesn’t really care.

R1: Tyleik Williams
R2: Benjamin Morrison

Earlier this year GG acknowledged that he was a little shocked when Zeitler was signed after he had signed and that he is a little more comfortable on the right side.
His performance is drastically different this season on the Left compared to last season on the Right.

His performance last year on the right was drastically different than every other year. Last year was magnificent.

Still, his greatest value is in what you see right now, playing him Left, Center or Right. While he may say he’s a little more comfortable on the right, he’s still versatile and maintaining a steady level of play except for those 1 or 2 miscues per game that he avoided last year.

In the end, I think Mahogs begins his career at LG and makes this whole conversation moot.

Decker - Mahogany - Ragnow - Glasgow - Sewell
Backups are Manu, Skipper, Yode and draft pick. Probably Sorsdal, but if things are as bleak as they’ve been discussed, he can go to the PS.

We have more depth than we know what to do with. Yode, Niese, Sors.
