Guitar talk - we hi jacked the Agnew thread

Who all plays and what’s your axe and amp of choice?
Fender American Pro Stratocaster, Marshall DSL40, for me.

I don’t play anymore but when I did, I used an Ibanez RG with a Mesa Boogie setup.

Those days are long gone, though.

I just bought my first guitar about 6 month ago. I’m pretty sure it was $237 at Guitar Center, and nothing that would impress you guys.

Was actually thinking of starting my first lesson online tonight. Still haven’t seriously touched the thing.

The little girl is my granddaughter. We were on a rooftop in Bay City playing a private party to a couple thousand for the fireworks. That was a blast. First time any of the grandkids knew how cool PA is.

Used to play a lot more. I let go of most my guitars. What I have now is my J10 Larrivee acoustic. (Thinking of buying another Larrivee, an 01 to keep in japan since I’m here half the time)

I have a Jackson Charvel model 5 refitted with Hot rails and a Custom-Custom

I have a Takamine classical and a Warmoth solid body quilted maple guitar I used to play in jazz band but haven’t played in years. Sustain for eons

The only amp I’ve kept is a Fender tweed tube amp with a nice variety of stomp boxes

Have a Mackie VLZ pro mixer in a cube witn Alesis quad and BBC maximizer that I used to drag around to gigs and now just basically collects dust

Gotta have a Fender amp. I have an original 68 Deluxe Reverb (silver face). It’s strictly a studio amp these days.

Notfishin will love this, but I have FAR more gear than talent. Around 20 guitars now, and several amps. Go to guitars are firebirds, Gibson and Epiphone. I’ve owned a few LP’s that I’m just starting to appreciate. I have a gibby Classic with P-90’s and a bigsby that’s just amazing. For amps, I have a new Boogie California Tweed head and a Fender Super that are the go-to’s. One that really surprised me was an impulse buy of a Hughes & Kettner Tubemiester 38 head. Really great sound and features for the money. Power soak, great reverb, 2 full channels.

Have you played any of their guitars?

I know people that have them and love them.
I went with the Boss Katana 100. It has a more analog sound.

OMG! Somebody talk me down. My new lady is gonna kill me. This isn’t the guitar I was thinking I had to have.

I’m going to buy my son the Line 6 Spider MkII 60.
Seems like a good value for everything you get.

Missed this thread.

I’ve got a Line 6 GX unit you hook to the computer and play through you computer speakers. Has all the effects, amps and cabs built in. Can download exact specific tones and effects for songs.

My digitech effects processor just shit out and the tuner quit working. So I picked up a new one and it just came yesterday. RP360XP, can’t wait to try it out with the EVH 5150.

I have a GNX4 and RP1000. I just get sick of the processed sound.
That’s why I’m so impressed with the Boss Katana, it doesn’t sound processed at all!

So you just use single pedals for delay or phaser type stuff?

I like to use the distortion on the amp and just use the digitech for delay, etc. This new one has a looper and drums so it will be fun to mess around with…if I ever get time.

The Katana has all the Boss pedals built in, or accessable via the Katana app. Like 53 in all, and 5 seperated amps, acoustic, clean, crunch, lead, brown (waza).
It’s the schnits!
