Nor should you…
Yeah, but, I had my girlfriend with me!
Cool thread. Glad I found it. Some excellent players and instruments here in the Den, I see.
Here’s my most recent guitar. I built this one from a kit.
And here’s my jam room
5string Stingray with my Ampeg SVT Classic/Ampeg 8x10.
Played bass my whole life. Play drums/Guitar/Sing.
Also built a studio in my basement when I was a youngin and continue to add bits and pieces.
Just started with Violin as well… big pain in the ass, but such a beautiful sounding instrument, so I’m pretty dedicated to nailing it.
My “axe” lol. Been meaning to take up guitar for a while, have some piano background so that helps. This instrument was made a few miles from where I am, basic classical guitar but made by a 70 year-old guitar maker who just had open-heart surgery and really needed the sale. I love it.
That guitar is a beauty. Nothing better than a beautiful classical guitar…
I love classic rock, alternative rock, metal, grunge, electric guitars, distortion pedals and turning amps up to 11 as much as the next guy…but nothing will ever beat just quietly noodling and finger picking a nice nylon stringed guitar. Whether $50 or $5,000, there’s just something about classical guitars that will always be my favorite.
The sound is so sweet. Dude has been making them for decades. I’d been scoping around for a lefty, couldn’t find one and then remembered this guy lived nearby. I said, hey make me a lefty. He was so happy. Me too.
Duuuuuude.
Is that an original Vox? My brother had one, I was the singer. I’m a poet, not a gear head lol. But the sound of those vacuum tube amps goes right to the roots of the 60s sound I love so much.
No sir - not an original. Got it from a woman on Craigslist selling her ex-boyfriend’s stuff along with an Epiphone Gibson replica for $150 though. Helluva deal lol.
Ha, that’s hilarious! Good for you man. Again, I don’t know a lot about em, it just looks more rectangular than the ones I know. Maybe just the photo angle. Bet it sounds sweet.
As I lefty, I know I’m expected to live up the expectations of artists like Hendrix, McCartney, Cobain etc. I just want to get good enough to tell stories musically. What the hell.
Sorry… drummer only here!
