Brad is trying to build a consistent winner. That is something we aren’t used to in Detroit. Detroit is playing for their 5th winning season in a row this year, something they haven’t accomplished in my lifetime.

Most of the guys we have lost are the wrong side of 30 and getting deals at or above what was expected before FA.
We have never been one to make deals with the top FA candidates under this regime. We have a number of key players to resign, so I don’t know why people were expecting a different approach this year. It looks like our defence will be rebuild in the draft.

It’s true though. Of the top 20 teams this century in minutes lost to starters, only 2 have finished with a winning record.
Us in 2024, and us in 2025. Every single other team that lost that many minutes had a losing record. Including a couple of Shanny teams.

The biggest blunder was when Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn left. Instead of replacing them with the best possible coaches they could get they went with who they were familiar with. Coming off a 15-2 record they should have struck while the iron was hot and done better.
It’s disappointing, that window is closed. They are going to have to open up a new one but it’s not going to be this year.
