GARBAGE
defenses are going to get ripped apart. the only way to tackle is to physically overpower a guy at full speed, regardless of angle.

100% on point.
Refs need to be taken OUT of games, not given more ability to impact them.
They “unbiasedly” carry out the bidding of the empire
Like ive said 1000 times, we nees ai refs. Or at least ai assisted new york refs that look at every play between snaps.
That’s a flag.
Try again.
I agree with all of you. I really do. But one more devils advocate argument. When they outlawed the horse collar tackle, you could make the argument that refs would adversely affect the game with a game changing wrong call. And, I’m sure it’s happened a few times, but not enough to say it wasn’t the right decision to get rid of it. Same with blindside hits on receivers etc. Do I miss the violence of the late 80s/early 90s, of course! But ultimately I’m glad the players health is being factored in more…even if it was court ordered essentially
When Suh did it, yep…horsecollar…except…no horse collar
As of now… that is fair and legal.
How do you like ur brain? Scrambled? Or your knee Scrambled? One gets u suspended the other gets u celebrated… I know where I would be aiming
Kerby to Kollman: “Hold my beer!”
Clear as mud.
Haha @socko behave yourself…
I honestly want someone in the league office to come out and say how a defender is supposed to tackle a guy from behind. I want to see how they want them to do it.
I find this crazy. As a former player, who was taught to tackle this way since peewee football I can’t fathom how a player is to tackle today.
We’re going to see a bunch of diving for the legs and ankles and that will cause injuries.
You can’t avoid injuries in a contact sport.
I’m not really a fan of subjective rules. The NFL has too many of them now. Rules should be clear and easy to enforce. This reminds me of the Calvin Johnson rule. WR’s argued they didn’t know what was and wasn’t a catch anymore. Eventually they figured it out but it took about 3-4 years. In the meantime you had a bunch of subjective calls that created controversy.
With this new rule I’d be looking for the next Jerome Bettis at RB.
So true. LOL
This is all on purpose.

The Lions got screwed in Dallas on a phantom horse collar tackle. And you are right, the refs understand how to call it correctly. That’s what pisses us off. They KNOW how to call it correctly. When a rule like this is misapplied, its uncanny how often it is to benefit a favored franchise or influence a preferred outcome to a game.
Let’s look at an example from a game where (2) favored franchises were playing eachother. The preferred outcome was a Packers win. On a key play at the end of the game, the refs suddenly forgot what pass interference is. That’s not a coincidence. They know how to make that call.
Thats why lions should draft weapons and oline. Get ahead of the curve
Exactly.
Start with a WR in Round One while we’re at it.
