If we want to stay in base we’ll need a good coverage lb. Who are the best option in FA, Draft, Trade, Roster?
Kyle Louis! But we probably won’t.
Jacob Rodriguez maybe, if we’re willing to spend an earlier pick and not go edge rusher in the 2nd. Jalon Kilgore might be available in the 4th if we think we can use a big nickle/safety hybrid in the role. Agree that Kyle Louis would be fun as well
I think the Lions are going to give Rodrigo a shot at winning the job, but will also take a LB in the draft in case it doesn’t work out. With Rodrigo one a 1 year deal they also have to consider the possibility of him leaving in free agency of course.
Unless we draft somebody I think Rodrigo is going to get the nod.
Kyle Louis would be excellent
but there is no shot in hell hes making it to our 2nd round pick
I think he could. 50/50 chance. A lot of teams don’t use that overhang type WILL (including, so far, us, sadly), so he won’t be as high on other boards. And for his size he didn’t test as freaky as some people thought he might f on his tape. If Edge Cooper and his prototypical frame/testing can fall to almost 50, than so can the more niche Louis
I’m a Harold Perkins fanboy in this draft, and he should be available 3rd round plus. Every summary you read about him seems to say something different about him, so I think it’s best to find some tape and draw you own conclusions. He was used all over the place in LSU and he tore his ACL in 2024, so we’ll definitely like that. I think he’s a guy who could really blossom with some good NFL coaching.
Why would Kyle Louis not be there at 50?
He should be later a round later
He’s 220 lbs
Love me some Harold Perkins I like him as nickel rusher if we go 3-3-5 packages.
You know what, we gotta draft Perkins
I think with Perkins, you can deploy him in a lot of different ways. He definitely has some holes in his game, but I really think with solid NFL coaching, you can get a really good value on him in the 3-5th round (hard to tell how teams will view him). Some people may agree or disagree on what his exact skillset is (the number of contradictory things I’ve read about him is amazing), but I could see him playing anywhere from DPR to WILL to STAR. I view him as a bit of a swiss army knife who needs to be sharpened lol
So my answer in this draft is Anthony Hill, Jr. This dude is savage, can run sideline to sideline just like AA, good enough in the box, and athletic enough to get better at coverage. I like Allen from Georgia too in terms of what the Lions like. I sort of have some questions about his athleticism though and I wish he would have worked out at the combine. But I think he has the mental processing the Lions will like and they like a Weakside that is MLBish and can hold up in the box. Plus it looks like he is pretty okay at covering. Of course, Sonny Styles is like the prototype for what we want at WLB IMO but he won’t be around. Honestly, none of these guys are probalby going to fall right for us. And you might be able to talk me into Trotter there too.
I feel like it might be unless they can find a guy that can do what AA did for them. I think he was underrated in terms of his skillset.

Does this look like a punter to you?
He’s a playmaker on defense we need that.
The downside, you can run right at him. And he has lost some of that insane closing speed since he got last year. I wonder if he can make another jump next year in his recovery of its just where it is now that knee
I’ve been seeing his stock rise alot, even if he doesn’t have the physicals, his combine testing was amazing
Maybe im just super high on him, but I legit dont know if he will be there at our pick
Yeah, I really like Harold Perkins the athlete, I just don’t know what he is exactly. Its almost like his best position is EDGE but he is sub 230lbs. But then again, that is probably why he’ll be available on day 3 for some coach to have some clay to mold.

That Perkins tape was hot.
Kyle Louis or Anthony Hill. The lions have actually met with hill. But it’ll probably be Rodrigo.
For all the Perkins lovers it should be noted that he was not on the field for 3rd downs or in obvious passing downs this year. I think the best solution is to stop using 3 LBs and add an in the box safety or let Branch do it if he has lost a step when he returns. To me having Jack, Barnes and Rodrigo on the field on a passing down is insane. None of them can cover or rush the passer.
