I have never witnessed a fanbase so demoralized at a 7-5 record

This is what has me so disappointed. We had the one game against the Ravens where it looked like Lions football again. We ran it down their throat and played bully ball. That makes me happy and proud. After watching the Packers come into our house and kick our ass it was not looking good. The next day I watch the Bears do what the lions are supposed to do to the Eagles and I could only watch with envy. Oh the Eagles defense is so great with Jalen Carter and their new pass rusher Phillips nobody can block those guys. Then of all people Ben goes into Philly and just smashes it down their throat with Swift and a 7th round draft pick. Nearly 300 yards rushing. If I was Dan or Hank I would be embarrassed with the performance of our O-Line

Why would he take heat? Because a poser fan on an Internet forum has proclaimed this a “lost season.”

You are DYING to pop the kids balloons with a big fat “I told you so…”. It’s honestly strange at best…. If we “get lucky” and win 4-5 in a row… what your narrative be, We got lucky? Other teams underperformed? Double down on how it doesn’t exonerate Holmes negligence?

Is your angle to share in a celebration of we win, and prove you knew we would lose if we don’t? You don’t have a to “be let down of you predicted it” kind of thing?

Lions tickets are among the highest in the league. Now its for a poor product.

There was a tremendous ego around our coach and GM. Hopefully they learned some lessons, like don’t go 0 for 7 on 4th downs (7 unforced turnovers!!!) in 1 score games.

Just complete free fall when your All-Pro center says he will come back and then nopes out because the season is over 2/3 the way through after a 15 win year.

If you aren’t upset, that fine. Not understanding how anyone could be upset is super homer fan dumb.

I learned something this year brother. There are only 17 game a year… and few more if your team is “lucky”- but in only have 52 sundays in a year and in 2 years my daughter will be away at college and my son in 6…

Pheasant hunts… apple picking… pumpkin carving… steelhead fishing…. big family dinners…. I’ve let losing RUIN my day, week, and even be short with my wife/kids for a few hours

WTF? My company HC is in Cleveland and the Browns have and are still brutal…. They have no hope in sight.

Us being pissed at Brad or Dan on the internet isn’t going to inspire change. It didn’t force Harris to make a move, or Brad…. And many wanted the Pistons to trade the world for Giannis who is getting to close to done for his career, and we are in first….

I booked a weekend in Islamorada to sailfish… I’ll watch the game at a tiki bar… if they lose badly I’ll be in bed by 11:00 and at the dock at 6:00am… if they win we will rage and go to bed happy and leave the dock at 9am with less worry about what we catch.

either way it will be a good 48 hours.

PS- don’t go to the games… turn off the tv if you are mad.

Are you happy about this year?

Of course not. But I’m not “burning the boats” yet either brother.

The issue I have with this forum lately is the willing to ignore facts and reality to appease feelings.

If football was “progressive” then Lamar, Allen, Burrow would all have rings. They’d have built upon their teams most successful years… in reality they usually follow a 13-14 win season with an 11 win season.

Outside of the Pats and Chiefs- most teams don’t win 3-4-5 straight division titles etc.

In 2023 we had 4 losses after week 14, and led big in the NFCC…. I’m sorry I am not distraught at the prospect of being 8-5 vs 9-4 against a much harder schedule.

Right now you are afraid because we could lose vs hoping we might win. It’s less fun that way brother.

I get what your saying, but I think the window was closed after 49ers game…last year 15-2 and we all knew they weren’t that good. But there is dedication to what this team really is. Is it coaching, the gm or the players

There is no window buddy. It’s just one season at a time

Goff has a freaking 110 rating and a 5-1 TD/INT ratio with I believe zero fumbles lost… despite losing his top two targets and having a bottom 10 pass pro OL… he’s till young for a QB

Gibby, Sewell, Ra, Jamo are all locked up for 2-4 more year and just entering their primes…

Hutch, Kerby, Alim, Jack, Tyliek, Reed will all be here 2 plus years.

They boys will realize they have to reload if they miss the playoffs. It will be drastic. Trust me. They were cocky because it worked. If it fails, they will retool big time.

Why don’t we try beating the cowboys at home Thursday. If we do… then we worry about LA

It’s not lack of frustration. I am a very passionate cat, and allow myself to experience those emotions during the game. I fully believe in manifestation, consciously choosing how I use my energy, and putting “good juju” onto the Lions.

While I get frustrated, 2 things remain MY truth (others don’t have to agree, as being a happy person with a well-regulated nervous system is not for everyone)

  1. Long term faith. I firmly believe that they will get it right long-term. Feels very much like the Pistons rebuilding. Watching the Vildor play felt much the same as Kevin McHale getting credited for a 3 pointer, when his foot was almost halfway over the line… Fluky bullshit with crazy key injuries. Watching Rodman get called for a phantom foul, when he was literally 2 feet away from Kareem. Fluky shit. It takes some luck with health, especially in football. This year, we didn’t have the depth that could incur as much injury. GG goes down, we have a grocery bagger at C. OG goes down and there is a severe dropoff in talent. Injuries to T-Deck and Sewell. Sure, the skill positions hurt, but not as bad as the hogs getting hurt on the OL.

  2. I don’t project my emotions onto others and just throw energy around, when I do get pissed/aggrivated/annoyed/frustrated/etc. I know nothing good can come of it.

Instead of letting the inner child run rampant, I process alone and recognize it for what it is, then let the higher self explain to others what I’m experiencing. It’s the difference between word vomit, and calculated response. It’s the difference between being solutions oriented thorough responding, and just throwing energy around from a reactionary standpoint.

In real life, I am MUCH more quiet after a loss. I am much more giddy after a win, especially a good one. Connecting to the deeper truth is a part of it. The deeper truth to me is that it will eventually be right, and that they are going through the exact amount of growing pains to get it right.

Dan and Brad are serial learners, and will adjust. Those ppl are HIGH accountability and will do everything in their power to get it right. Those people are highly competent, as leaders, as well as knowledge base to get’r’done.

Love my lions. NEVER been a better time to be a Lions fan. This is AWESOME!!!

Wondering if Rags comes back next year? Fully healed and rested?
Wondering if Brad can knock another OL pick out of the park, or if there is even a Dan Campbell guy available?

That is correct. This Lions team at this point in the year has lost its Grit.

7-5 is a good record, but this team is supposed to be better than that and

everyone here expected it at the first of the year and after we beat Baltimore.

The defense is the biggest disappointment. They only had a few good games.

Better teams like Green bay have no problem pushing them around.

I just dont think their contenders, and same in the future

A lot of things may change between now and next season…

but that schedule definitely looks better than this season.

I was just looking at that myself. While we would get the 3rd place 49ers, Texans, and Commanders, the Bears would get Rams, Eagles, and Jaguars, and the Packers would get Cowboys, Seahawks, and Colts. There seems to be a pretty big disparity between the 1st and 2nd place teams in those divisions verse the 3rd place teams to me.

Well, last year should have an asterisk because they were missing virtually their entire defense for the playoff game.

Also, there’s a difference between being disappointed and giving up like some in this board have and endlessly trashing Brad and Dan who had engineered one of the greatest turnarounds in sports history. Not that they don’t deserve some criticism mind you but….sheesh, it’s been brutal on those guys not just here but from Lions fans everywhere.

Personally, I just knew the season would play out this way. New coaches, reshuffled offensive line, their two best defensive players coming back from really serious injuries that were likely going to take more than a year to come back fully from and a tougher schedule which, admittedly, turned out to be not as daunting with Burrow and Daniels missing those games. Still, I knew this would be an uneven season but also a dangerous team if they got into the playoffs. I predicted 10-11 wins and they’re tracking that way. I still think they’ll be dangerous if they get in, and relatively healthy. We’ll see, better win this week.
