I would die of happiness if we pulled this 7-rounder off

I wrote a little about him here

Love it. Thanks brother.

My youth sports career was always hampered by feets that my abnormally sized middle leg would get in the way. It was especially a worry for my hockey coaches.

thanks for posting! what’s crazy is I haven’t even thought about the draft this year. Normally I’ll run several hundred (no exaggeration) sins and research all the prospects.

This year I was surprised the other day when the draft was next week. And I no nothing about any prospect. Shame

Or maybe because we’re good now? Anyone else lose the draft bug?

We are good and really there isn’t much room for additional starters, I would say 2 and they need to be very good. So basically we are drafting depth in hope of them becoming future starters. Urgency has given way to patience, and trusting a proven staff to choose wisely.

Just saw a Mock from a big time NFL draft site lions at 28 Take WR Emeka Egbuka I could see them doing something like this. The draft has good players but after about pick 15 they are just that good not rated higher but many just Good. Its a pick to think about with 5 year value could it result in a trade earlier? Have know idea but Holmes does things unexpected. I would guess he would like to trade down an still take him.

Slight trade up in round 2 with Hooker as the bait.

Brady Cook or K Rourke as an UDFA

If it went down like this it would be great, but I do like some guys we passed on in the 7th at #228.

Hollin Pierce OT Rutgers
Clay Webb, OL, Jacksonville State
And this guy I really like…Nick Nash, WR, San Jose State

He would be a perfect fit here.

I could 100% see something like this… Brad has found a diamond in the rough or two each year… C Harris, J Reynolds, Glasgow, Anzalone, Comish, Raymond, Elliott, etc…

Each are plenty of snaps, and each well outperformed their 1-2.5M AAV one year deals.

Then each got a second contract here and outside of AA and Raymond, it’s hard to say we really got our monies worth on any of them the 2nd time around.

I love what we got from Timmy P last year, but his age, upside and injury history make gambling on him for 700 plus snaps a huge gamble. We are already doing that with Davenport/Paschal as our DE2…

I am not sure our FO is going to invest in a multi year Jamo extension, and I expect Jamo and his camp to want one.

I’m not advocating we take Embuka, Burden, Higgins etc early, but I surely wouldn’t hate or dismiss it.

I believe we sign Kerby and Hutch so imo the weakest and or most uncertain positions on the roster are……

—-Davenport/Paschal as DE 2 and 3…

—-Glasgow/Mahogany as OG 1 and 2…

—- Reader and Levi as DT 2 and 3 (with Alim out much of 25’ season already)

—- Jamo, Patrick, Raymond as WR2/3/4 with Jamo extension not certain and both others single year deals over 30 years of age

—- Anzalone in his final year over 30 at WLB

We are not going to be able to solve all 5 with multi year solutions, but if Brad goes “Full Villain” and gets us 3 again? LFG!!!

Embuka
W Milum
Savion Jones
V Boughton

Or

G Zabel
J Stewart
T Horton
V Broughton

Or

M Williams
J Savaiinaea
Horton
V Broughton

Bottom line there are only so many guys around round 1 that I think could be plus plus starters

Seeing Embuka as a 900-1,100 yards 7-8 TD wr in 4 of the next 5 years wouldn’t shock me at all.

I like a few of those too!

I do think That’s2 is on to something with Cabledue… 80 plus rating, 9 plus RAS, and more snaps logged than Donovan Jackson the past 3 years. I could see Brad hedging bets on long term OL solutions. Milum and Cabledue both have tackle experience and project as OGs. Add in Manu and Mahogany and suddenly we have a bevy of cheap young OL talent with plus athletic traits.

Que Robinson and Collin Oliver is a cheap double up in rounds 4 and 7 to get more 240 pound “movers” on the squad. I feel like one pops for sure and pairs with Barnes as rush LBs that can get us some 3rd down pressure. I don’t see all these picks making the team- but guys with plus traits where we need help on 2024 could be ideal.

Goff/Allen/Rourke- top level starter, experienced backup, upside project QB

Gibby/Monty/Netflix/Vaki- I think we possibly snag an UDFA RB in this deep class to compete with Netflix?

Ra/Jamo/Patrick/Horton/Raymond/Bell- absolutely love the depth, diversity of skills, and contract lengths

Decker/Manu
C Mahogany/Cabledue
Ragnow/Glasgow
Savaiinaea/Glasgow
Decker/Manu

Laporta/Wright/Yeboah

What’s not to love about this?

Hutch/Muhammad

Reader/Grant/Lopez

Levi/Broughton/McNeill

Davenport/Broughton Paschal

Barnes/Que/Oliver

Campbell/Rodrigo

Anzalone/Stuard

Arnold/Rake

Reed/Dorsey

Robertson/Maddox

Kerby

Branch

Maybe we add a guy like Kendall Fuller to shore up the CB room?

Adding Z and Fuller would really, really make this roster pretty imposing.

Cableguy & Dylan Fairchild & Joshua Gray

If we can’t get Donovan Jackson in a trade down or Wyatt Milum in round 2/3.

I like adding these as later day 3 adds to develop and compete.

This is the route Brad has chosen for the OL last two drafts. Should continue.

Take Hollin Pearce instead of Horsley. Though there is a 0.00 percent chance Pearce is there that late or anywhere close to that late.

One thing I know for sure, the staff is gonna love Egbuka. I don’t know that we’ll pick him, but we’ll love him. I would have included him in that list of guys we should be talking about, but he’s already been talked about quite a bit.
