I would die of happiness if we pulled this 7-rounder off

If we draft him do we still install the offense or does he do it for us?

Another comp that I think is overdone.

Hmmm, no, that’s no good. That’s my comp for him, so, uh, that’s combine vs. pro day right?

It’s everybody’s. I think there is some overlap in terms of projected NFL usage, upside and styles of play. I also think their style of play have some differences as well. Trees had basically been a pro since he was 18. Historically refined freshman wide receiver. Egbuka was a multi-sport star. I think there is considerably more there, there in upside scenarios.

Yes. It was combine vs. pro day. But Egbuka has a HS combine 4.42 in his back pocket, would have been a high draft pick CFer had he concentrated on baseball. He’s just a better overall athlete than Bobby Trees. Probably by a fair margin.

I mean based on that testing a lot of guys are better athletes than Bobby Trees, sheesh.

That but also that much like JTT, Egbuka is a rare overall athlete. Like I bet their good bowlers even though they don’t bowl. That type of thing. Just naturally coordinated, fluid, etc. And I get that’s a bit ambiguous in terms of translation to the pro game, but tbh that is some of why I remain optimistic that each might have another level to reach as a pro.

No, I totally get it. Some guys are just good at everything. Though in my experience that’s usually more of a hand-eye coordination thing… like QBs can usually shoot or shooters can usually throw a football - and both are good bowlers. That sort of thing. Center fielders and WRs go hand-in-hand that way too, ball catchers basically.

Despite the comp I’ve always thought Egbuka had the higher ceiling. He’s not a typical WR1, but if he fits somewhere like ARSB did here, it could happen.

I know for a fact after studying for this mock that the Seahawks love him. They’ve brought him in a few times. I couldn’t pull the trigger since he and JSN are too similar and they’ve also brough Jihaad in a bunch of times, but with Kubiak bringing the Shanny tree stuff over they could probably get away with JSN and Egbuka long-term just like the Rams did Bobby Trees and Kupp. (With Kupp there to help them ease the transition no less)

And of course Egbuka’s from the area and grew up a Seahawks fan, so I’m sure he’d be thrilled.

Egbuka is underrated.

I can see him as a St Brown/ JSN

Maybe this is dude Ben Johnson will trade up for? We get 39 & 72

Great minds we posted this same damn time

I do think Ben will like him, the problem trade up wise is Noel is a very similar type as a person and player. Hell I think his tape might be better. But have that ARSB alpha slot makeup, and I think they’ll come off the board within 10-15 picks of one another, unless Seattle says screw it and takes Egbuka in the 1st.

Seattle won’t take him they got JSN and Kupp

I don’t know man, they really like him. A 30 visit, combine visit, pro day visit. Many of their fans think it’s a fait accompli. I really don’t think Kupp will stop them from taking him or any other WR. Personally I think he’s cooked, but even if he isn’t that’s really only a one-year deal.

Right, that too

I’m more nervous about Seattle or Chargers sniping Tory Horton round 2 from us

I basically flipped a coin between him and Milroe. They spent a lot more time with Milroe - I’m not sure they met at all with Horton - so I went that way.
