I cannot argue that, this is what I’ve been saying all along. Some teams and people do overrate arm length and although it’s a measurable and variable to take into consideration, it’s not the end-all for an OT…or DE for that matter.
You don’t really need to. It’s on tape. If you want to say well gee you’re right Rick, I can see him do it these EIGHT TIMES in 4 minutes of tape, but I contend he will NEVER be able to do that at the next level, then cool beans. It’s a debate on projection against better talent. If you want to keep mocking what I said, like you pretend it isn’t on tape for you to observe again and again, well I’m just going to say your being deceitful because it infringes on your “OT’s aren’t that impactful” narrative you are clinging to. Which of course you will be proven wrong on very soon because Sewell ain’t falling out of the top 10. Teams don’t spend top 10 picks on non-impact positions or prospects. If this particular OT isn’t scooped up in the first 6 picks, I’ll be thrilled to watch him get scooped up by us at 7. If he does fall past us, I will be here standing tall prior to pick 8 happening to eat crow for you.
No kidding man. I remember giving my buddy untold loads of crap because his wife scheduled their move (I’d committed to help) on draft day… So I was on my new flip phone that could get the internet!!! I kept refreshing and saw that we had traded up into the bottom of the first round to take… Kevin Jones Virginia Tech!!! I had been Jim Schwartzing over his highlight reels and he was A LION!!! Ah the pain of being a Lions fan watching that talent run into a brick wall moving backwards towards him again… and again… and again until he was the limping wounded.
wow bro, are you really that pathetic? Going back through my posts 9 months to find something you think makes me look stupid? I never said I was an expert. I never said I am a talent evaluator. You are the one who got his panties in a bunch at the suggestion that NFL people are calling Willis a late second rounder AS OF TODAY…because it disagrees with your assessment.
You know what is really funny about your attempt to mock me. This is the same thread where I said Bengals are apparently going hard FOR Chase and people were thinking that was smoke. So i was 1 for 2.
Last year’s draft class was so good, there was literally no going wrong with anyone you liked as long as it wasn’t a QB. Sewell, Chase, Waddle, Slater, Pitts, Parsons, Surtain, Devonta are already some of the best at their positions, not just as rookies but leaguewide. Horn looked really good too before he got hurt.
I think I would but it would be a tough decision for sure. Smith has more upside but the gap has certainly closed a good bit. St. Brown’s work ethic is such that I’m probably underestimating his upside though.
Yep, I’m not saying Smith isn’t gonna be a star. But, St. Brown’s work ethic, toughness and grit is what MC/DC is all about. He’s a perfect fit in Detroit.
Well I will say that I wouldn’t do it. Now some of that is homerism and I will own that right out of the gate. But I like the type of receiver that St. Brown is. He is a tough MF that catches, runs, and blocks. I love those types of guys and I would hate to give him up.
Nothing against Smith at all. I like the talent he has. I just like the St. Brown profile better.
