Slow the roll with Carter. Football talent is not an issue with him. His issue is professionalism. Can he do it week in and week out consistently? Can he stay on the field? He didn’t do that at Georgia but his talent is so big they couldn’t keep him off the field. This ain’t Georgia anymore.
I am rooting for him though and I do wish he were a Lion. Just wasn’t a fit here.

We should’ve drafted Jalen Carter.
But, if we did, we probably wouldn’t have Jack Campbell or Brian Branch. So I’d rather have the guys we ended up with.

If we are looking back at prospects missed I am still grieving over Jordan Davis. I am still hopeful for Jamo however we are still waiting to see and will continue to wait until mid season.

Nope, not losing sleep over Carter. It was obvious he did not check all the boxes for Holmes/Campbell. Jury is still out on Jamo but I’m worried that we maybe didn’t do as much research as we should have. I’ll give them a pass in 2020 with covid restrictions and Levi, but no excuse if Jamo doesn’t pan out.

I don’t think it would have worked out as well for us as it may for the Eagles. They have all of his teammates on the roster to help keep him focused and motivated. We don’t.

He didn’t check all the boxes, but he checked the box of having the most upside, by far. We already had Swift, who is probably going to kill it this year. But that’s just my opinion. Brad obviously saw it different. I don’t agree with him, but I hope he’s right.

To get Carter we would have had to do it with the pick we used on Gibbs. Brad said that getting Gibbs was at the top of his priority list, so the next move after Carter would have been to trade up from the second pick to get Gibbs. Campbell wasn’t going to be available when we picked again.
I was bummed when we passed on Carter. But I trust Brad.

He’s a dirty Eagle now and play for their filthy fans in their shitty stadium.
If we can get to the NFCC I hope we draw them and play in that crappy place and shut them the hell up and I hope their fans burn it down after.
But I have no feelings one way or the other about Carter.
