Jamo catch could change the course of history for Lions

Thought the headline was kinda funny in hindsight given what’s transpired since then.

Well, at this rate it’s like this…

Think Positive Season 1 GIF by The Roku Channel

His confidence is shot. Herman moore was on the DLP st jude 24 hour show yesterday and talked about how he needs more drag routes and short catches in space that allow him to YAC. That its a losing cause to try and build confidence on long balls only bc they are the least successful statistically of all the throws. Needs more st brown type targets.

A slant or two would be nice.

I just love our team man.

Yeah, I think a lot of us have been begging for them to get him involved in other ways than just the deep ball.

But if he is not where is is supposed to be at the right time, Goff moves to his next guy. It’s likely all about route running.

They’ve tried a couple where he runs an out route 7-10 yards, then suddenly cuts back toward the middle of the field, but neither was particularly successful . One for short yardage; the other incomplete.

Yes! I’ve been advocated to get this guy involved early. Jamo is a few big plays away from getting some sort of confidence back. It’s so obvious he is pressing and it’s really effecting him. Use other players to clear out space for Jamo and let him get his hands on some easy YAC balls. Instead of using him as the clear out guy. Once he has a breakout game, I believe he will be ready to roll.

True, but you owe it to the player and the overall health of the team to work him in more intently. He’s just a kid and in desperate need of some small victories.

Then you go right back to him like you would a RB who fumbles.

Wait, did you just violate the 8 month rule? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Wouldn’t it be nice if Herman marched over to Lions headquarters and went to bat for the dude, try to bend somebody’s ear a little bit…

I think it would be nice if Williams didn’t drop half the balls thrown his way

Patience and perseverance: he will be gold before you know it!!

That’s called a 50/50 ball. And Jamo loves those odds on FanDuel.

I mentioned this in my maligned post about him earlier this week. Jamo only needs to these routes:

  1. Slice
  2. Drive
  3. Post
  4. Skinny post/ Seam
  5. Whatever they call the 2 on the right

and then an occasional

  1. 10 yard in
  2. fade
  3. Slugo

Anything that lets him use his speed and he can work between the safeties and linebackers.

If you look at Waddle and Tyreek they appear to feast on the routes between the safeties and linebackers. The pair also does a lot of damage in the middle of the field behind the Mike LB.

I tried to find a heat map of where Tyreek Hill is catching the ball, but I couldn’t find one. But here is a sample size of five.

Every Tyreek Hill catch from 163-yard game | Week 6 - YouTube

Tyreek Hill’s best catches in 181-yard game | Week 5 - YouTube

Tyreek Hill’s best plays from 11-catch game vs. Eagles | Week 7 - YouTube

Every Jaylen Waddle catch in 121-yard game | Week 8 - YouTube

The difference between Jamo and Hill is Tyreek is quicker and stronger. Jamo is taller.

Maybe he’s like Forrest Gump. ARSB has to catch the ball and hand it off to Gump…er, Jamo.

He might be the stupidest sonofabitch alive, but he sure is fast.

I like to see how fans want to compare him to Hill but when we do this lets also sa how many games these other WR have played.

If an we should say this is his rookie year an he has been active for 4 games. No the first two are like when someone joins team in trade from PS or injury . Being new to the O they need a couple of games to get back in sync an he really is a rookie.

I think with limited snaps an not every snap with Lions is a pass play. We need to just leave him alone an let staff work things out. I am not making excuses i had hoped for more. I looked closer an tried to be fair an if i say this is his rookie year an of the 4 games back last two would be him getting back in sync.

I understand fans questioning what we have, I think what we have can be super good lets see an not rush the judgement.

I am willing to wait at least say 4 more games before I will say he needs to do more work an maybe the approach he has or staff have for him needs to change.
