The issue is the cop having probable cause to search the car and jamo. Hes a passenger. Cops had absolutely no right to search the car or run jamos info
First they didnāt search, the info was rightfully volunteered when the officer asked if they had any weapons. That is all that is needed to see the weapons and the required registration, CPL.
Cpl laws only state that
Must immediately claim they have a CPL and have guns in the car. They did.
The officer can ask for the guns for safety but not run a registration check.
As for jamo. He didnt have to provide anything.
Now i have to dig more into weather or not the CPL covers all guns in the car or just the CPL holder. And if they had right to run jamos info. Still digging.
How do you distinguish between immaturity and stupidity? Sometimes they feel like the same thing but if youāre older and doing immature things, itās stupidityā¦but can you do stupid stuff at a younger age and it still just be stupidity?..Iām asking because I really donāt know what the difference is.
Immaturity to me is sharing dumb posts on social media or doing donuts showing off in front of your friends or some girls. You know, stuff like thatā¦but if Sterling Sharpe tweets himself with a girl doing x-rated things, itās careless or dumbā¦but if someone Jamoās age does it, then immaturity or still stupidity?
The fact that Jamo tells the officer repeatedly that he plays for the Lions makes me feel like he thinks heās above the law, more stupid than immature imoā¦but maybe just being a dumb kid that needed to learn a lesson the hard way.
I know the NFL talks to rookies about finances, Iām not sure if they talk to them about guns per se. But I would hope the NFL talks to them about guns, money, and partying. So if Jamo was talked to about guns, is he being immature or stupid?..again, you deal with this stuff and maybe can shed a little light on this a little more than the average person.
Thanks in advance.
Some police called in to the radio today. This is something all of them have seen. Iāve forgotten the term they used, but essentially if the gun is yours, you have to have a CPL or transport the firearm secured (trunk, or locked up).
This wouldnāt be an issue if no laws were broken.
Oh i know you are being sincere. The truth is there isnāt a difference, the hope is we can rationalize the why is due to his age and immaturity. The older he gets and the more this shit happens the less itās a young kid needing to grow up and more just a dude without common sense. We all know a older immature person who hs never grown up but we donāt rationalize it as a young kid making dumb mistakes bc person is 30-40 etc, we just shake our heads and expect stupid shit from them. So for now we just all hope its a maturity thing he will outgrow. He has done stupid stuff. Period.
