It’s amazing to me that Goff doesn’t get recognized as one of the best. It seems like any success he has always comes with a ‘but’

Was arguing for Goff against my son in law and nephew on Xmas eve. Funny how people always find out what a player can’t do rather than focusing on what he does very well. You can win a SB with Goff. Nothing else matters.

Every QB is going to have some limitations strengths and weaknesses. What’s been unique to Goff is the variety of things posters claim he can’t do

He can’t throw deep is still making the rounds
Last season ‘He never steps up in the pocket’ was en vogue along with ‘He can’t throw people open’ and ‘Can’t throw to a back shoulder’

Couple all that with ‘He wilts under pressure’ ‘He’s a turnover machine’ ‘He has weak hands’ ‘He can’t win on the road and sucks outdoors’ and it would seem we have the absolutely worst QB in history who baffingly is top five in most categories and is leading a top five offense for the second year in a row

I get that he doesn’t get all the Love from everyone outside Detroit (hell even some inside Detroit).
The guy isn’t flashy, he just shows up and gets the job done. He is not great at any one thing but really good at most, just not running.
Here’s the thing, he really doesn’t have a weak point to his game as a pocket passer. Granted he isn’t as mobile as what all the “Modern” QB’s are, but damn as the OP shows, he is really good at things this offense excels at.
That alone is what has this offense in the top 5.
