JJ didn’t impress with his answers at OTAs.

If you can’t get along with people with two Js then you never will.
while Kyler Murray gave a mentor-like answer.
When Kyler is the adult in the room, you’re in trouble.
Murray was mocking JJ even before the Cards traded him.

It does seem weird that Kyler would mock a freshman QB from UofM back in September on 2021… but he is a bit different.

Maybe they can bond over video games…. Cause we sure know Murray ain’t watching any game film
For the first time ever in his life, Kyler got to be the bigger man.
JJ McCarthy has actually never been a good quarterback, so I can’t say I’m surprised with how he’s turned out in the NFL.
It must have been painful to watch the Buckeyes lose back to back seasons to a ‘not good’ quarterback.
Winning that natty in '24 must have felt all the more validating because at least when you lost to Michigan, it was against a much better quarterback in Davis Warren.
to be fair, he wasn’t ‘good’. he was definitely a product of a good team. not the kind of guy that if you’re down a couple scores he’ll do it alone.
he’s ok. he’s very mobile. has a strong arm. not super accurate. obviously you can work with that and that’s what signing murray is about. VERY similar skillsets but kyler can be successful. Hopefully JJ learns.
He’s been carried by the talent around him his whole life. He played at IMG in high school, at Michigan with however many draft picks and sign stealing coaches they had, and now he has KOC, Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Aaron Jones, and Hockenson and STILL isn’t that good.
That is not what we should hope for.
No, hopefully JJ becomes such a distraction that Kyler buries his head in more video games, the Vikings fall apart, and their whole coaching staff gets dismissed for a full-reset rebuild, with Agnew getting their GM job so we get moar beans.
I’m more of a ‘beat their best’ kind of guy. Sure it’s nice to beat someone that has tons of injuries or whatnot, but it’s hollow. and as we’ve seen from this team sometimes they get high from their own supply then get curbstomped with realism.
Well, we’re on the same page in terms of schadenfreude. Good!
But we just saw your version in ‘24 – I’d kind of like to see a new script for them in ‘26, one that’s full of despair and desperation, and just happens to include MOAR BEANS for us.
Moar beans = I WIN
well just keep all of our legs healthy and we should be good ![]()
Rumor has it McCarthy started the feud by saying “Up high!” for a high five and laughing when Murray couldn’t reach. Asking him if he was the greatest QB to ever come out of the Shire didn’t help either.
I will say this. JJ looked really good when the Vikings beat us last year. He was making some sick throws
I would trade a 5th for him
Yes, the supremely talented WR’s who were high draft picks and have blown up the NFL… Roman Wilson, Cornelius Johnson and Ronnie Bell. He had good TE’s and running game. Doubt sign stealing helped th offense too much but no reason to get in the way of a great narrative…
