He compared a professional QB room to a high school classroom.
.
Even if that is how he truly he views the current situation, that is an unfiltered response to a question that is clearly presented to open a can of worms.
His comments could have easily been shaped to prevent the media from scrutinizing every move made in that room, but he clearly wasn’t interested in that outcome.
.
Do you really believe JJ answered that question with a response that he felt was best for the team and his QB room to prepare for the upcoming season?
I’m not saying he is obligated to do so… but I certainly can’t see how his response can be viewed as anything but contentious for this coming season.
Yeah, agree. He’s creating unnecessary drama by setting it up as me vs. him instead of just saying he’s going to do whatever he can to help the team and then let his play do the talking.
The drama started when they signed a former #1 overall pick to compete with their first round pick. They wanted this. We’ll see how it plays out, but you can tell it’s the offseason by how much people are reading into it.
Where? He said he’s in a classroom, nothing about high school, a QB room is a class room in a sense… Film study, identifying problems and developing game plans, a lot of teaching goes on in that room. Again, people are adding more to this than what’s there
I agree, that’s why they added to the room. How it plays out will determine if JJ stays or gets moved, but they aren’t going to like eachother no matter what they say or don’t say to the media.
His comments were nothing like the comments most QBs make when they face a QB competition. Considering that he hasn’t proven himself at the NFL level yet, I can understand why many people find them to be unimpressive.
Josh Jacobs’ behavior has absolutely nothing to do with the Vikings.
It is interesting for a few people to dismiss these comments as nothing, but I have noticed that some of the strongest statements being made online about them have been coming from former NFL players!
Certainly not dismissive, moreso that players say things all the time and do things that are offensive all the time, and yet they sweep everything under the rug in the locker room because they are paid millions. Besides this he is a backup QB. There have been dumber people.
It’s the same old story.
