The thrill is gone, and the stank is gone. We’re hiring a new offensive coordinator and we have to give him the reins unsullied by Morton.
This ain’t Madden, son

oops, never mind
He got fired for the same reasons, again. Why was he hired?
Well this is fun. Too bad Morton didn’t work out but one thing I like about Dan is that he cuts losses and moves on. I wonder if they already have somebody lined up
Too bad Glenn took Tanner Engstrand to the Jets, he would have been our homegrown Ben replacement.
Someone mentioned JT Barrett who’s the QB coach for the Bears now. Bring him back and offer him the OC job. Eff them Bears.
I actually think figuring out our injury issues is even more important. Assuming there is a cause.
.
Mark Cuban went to IU and has deep pockets.
Not sure how much other donors spend… but they have cash available.
Yeah, honestly I just think it’s really, really awful luck. It’ seems like it happens all the time, but the fact is we’re still dealing with an incredibly small sample size.
I would personally be very intrigued, but I doubt anyone in here is very keen lol.
It just simply had to happen. There shouldn’t be a manager, program lead, business owner, or anyone in any type of leadership position that should keep an underlying where that leader has to do any percentage of that underlings job for them. Part of Morton’s job was to call plays and orchestrate a successful game plan on game day. The fact that Campbell had to take over that part of his job for him meant that this was inevitable.
Now the next question is whether Dan and Brad are going continue the “on the job training” with the DC position or bring in someone that already has the experience and know how to run a successful defense.
Nick Sirianni replaced the Eagles S&C staff when he was hired, and they hardly have injury issues at all. Year over year.
Morton is a good coach just not an OC unfortunately. He will head right back to Denver under Payton as the passing game coordinator
The OC hire is critical. I want Dan focused on the whole team and not just offense.
I’m okay keeping Shep if we get a legit OC in here and bring in a mentor for Shep
I mean, we’re keeping Shep whether I’m ok with it or not - so I might as well shut up about it LOL. But I sincerely hope they give him some help. Like real actual help
I hope that kid (grandson?) who was sitting to his right in the booth learns from this in a useful, future success kind of way.
Dan has 5 years invested in Shepp. Was his rookie season as a coordinator and he finished the season strong. Never really thought he wasn’t coming back.
I was wrong and everyone saying this would happen was right. Morton was what he is…the talent didnt change his coaching.
I heard Earmuffs got fired …
Just chuck it to jamo every play. Right??
As a head coach maybe? He’s a ■■■■■■■ master passing game guy. He would do wonders for Goff and the offense
Actually, I fully expected this. The DC is the bigger question but I expect Shep to get another shot.
