Report Lions are to interview David Blough for OC position. He’s QB coach for the Commies now.

Why fire him? Switch him to DL, he’s better than some of our depth guys I bet

I understand why we might be interested but I hope he’s not the hire.

Whoever called that Monty pass to Goff on 3rd and 1 in that Chicago game… that guy needs medieval torture.

On crossers? I’m down with that.

Just run you offense like I did playing this: we would be unstoppable.

In no world do i actually believe we have even a .00000001% chance of getting him. Comment was tongue in cheek.

I thought for sure that play was going to cost us the game. It almost did. Galactically foolish.

Well, this clears up a lot of the guesswork that’s been going on in my own mind. Really kind of bummed for Johnny. I figured that their past relationship and Johnny’s contributions to the team in 21/22 were enough to maybe try and keep him around.

Guess not. At this point, we have to assume the new OC will be the playcaller, too.

It was disrespectful to the football Gods

Not necessarily.

If Blough or another coach without a lot of experience is hired as OC I think Dan will continue to call plays.

And be a year closer to getting fired.

Ben got a HC gig and Tanner got an OC gig. I’d like that kind of arrangement again.
If I didn’t see that he was being interviewed for OC, I’d say he should be interviewed for the Passing Game Coordinator position.

Maybe it’s as you say, though. Maybe this is a direction Dan could go in where he remains the playcaller.

I’m done guessing. I’m just going to be patient in seeing this play out.

Actually, I have one more guess…
There’s no way David Shaw stays on. He and Morton go way back.

wonder what Jim Bob Cooter is up to these days. :grimacing:

I had it in mind that Johnny Mo was the passing game coordinator and OC. Slipped my mind that Shaw was PGC.

I’m ok with whatever they choose…

I would love to see BennJohnson 2.0 but he stay for five years before he goes

And to be honest the passing game is still awesome.

The oline and run game not so much

If Dan hires another (basically) first time coordinator with no history of calling plays to run this offense, I’m gonna lose my shit. He needs an experienced, innovative OC, period

Well, Dan NOT repeating as play caller seemed likely in any case, but dismissing Morton and getting someone else makes it even more likely.
