He knows this team and DL… I think he does want to miss week 1 ;-). Week 1 isn’t for the weak.
Not happy about injuries, but don’t mind if he misses a week.

Your team over paid for a coward. 
JJ was a good, not great, player as a Lion. Not a warrior at the level of a Ragnow, Decker, or Sewell, but not many are.

Rams aren’t my team. They were essentially dead to me when McVay did Goff Dirty. Love the lions and am 110% on board for this rise to greatness.

Hard to comprehend that.
I have been a Lion die hard since the 70’s. Many decisions I hated, many moves I despised, but the Lions were/are my team.
How does trading a QB you liked change your alliance from one team to another?

My one and only team is UC Berkeley California Golden Bears (as evidenced by my image and name).
I follow Cal players in the pros. Goff was so fun in college and when he went to a bad Rams team, it was fun to watch their rise as Goff did for/with our team.
Then he got traded and so I wanted to follow the Goff story and it’s been an awesome journey here!
Edit: I did watch the lions a little bit with Jahvid Best and Marvin Jones prior to 2021, but it was usually game highlights.

So, Jeff Tedford…mythical or mirage?
Hmm… both those words feel vacant and I’m not sure I’d use them.
Tedford was a heck of an offensive coach who burned himself out and started taking short cuts in recruiting and academics. He built a great Cal team capable of going toe to toe with the very best Pete Carroll National Championship teams.
Ultimately he burned out. I was very interested to see how he would do as an offensive coordinator for the Bucs, but he got sick before the season started and had to retire. He then built his Alma Mater Fresno State into a juggernaut and then had to retire.
I liken him a lot to Kyle Shanahan. He has a system and gets players to execute at a high level. He does wonders for QBs and can make mediocre ones like Kyle Boller and Detroit Legend Joey Harrington over perform into the top of the college league.
Tedford recruited Goff personally and spotted him before most schools like he did Aaron Rodgers. Tedford was fired before Goff got to Cal but luckily Goff’s parents both went there and he wanted to stay with it even in the coaching turmoil. Last NFL worthy QB we’ve had.

Like @BearlyThere I’m a Cal fan from NorCal and rooted for the Rams when Jared was there. I also have Western Michigan roots but lost some of my Lions fandom because I never liked Stafford. Needless to say my Rams days ended when they did Goff Dirty and also got Stafford. Which really worked out well because rooting for a SoCal team always made me feel like a traitor.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but Goff is my favorite Cal QB, and at this point Rodgers is one of my least favorite.
Agreed! I was a sideline reporter for Cal when we had Aaron Rodgers and Marshawn Lynch. Great time to be a fan. Aaron Rodgers was definitely a favorite for a long time but after he won his super bowl and became a huge KAaron, I lost my interest and we got Goff so I moved on. I don’t even follow Rodgers anymore unless he’s playing the Lions.
I also don’t care for MeShawn Jackson… A cal great, but not my favorite person.
Lynch on the other hand, he has his issues, but he is a super genuine and good person. I’m a huge fan.
