Someone got these numbers very, very wrong in the reporting. This definitely makes more sense. 2yr $6M with an additional $4 million in incentives. $2.75M is guaranteed, SB $1.5M, Base Salaries $1.2M (2022) and $1.8M (2023), workout bonuses of $50K per year, Roster bonus $1M due on March 20, 2023 and a $400K per game roster bonus in 2023. Cap hits of $2M 2022 and $4M 2023.
Lions will be $34.2M under the cap after this transaction and the impending release of Flowers.
That makes a lot more sense. The 2 years 12 million reported seemed very high on face value as he only got 3 million off the Titans last year and I doubt would have had much of a market in FA this time around.
Looks like we can get out of it easily enough after 1 year if needs be too.
Absolutely and that changes the calculous a bit in my mind. He went from on paper WR2 at least, to what could end up being a sub package guy with vet leadership ability in the room.
Even the original thread here said in the subject “up to” . A lot of folks seemed to gloss over that part of it.
It seems to be a far deal with chances for him to make better money if he has a bigger impact. I’ma hoping he earns the max solely through play and nothing to do with other’s being injured.
If reynolds can really be number 4 and cephus is 5. Because we sign a 1/2 and get a top flight talent in this draft that would be fantastic. I would like to take a few mid to late round cracks at receiver this year.
Aaron give us a few more deals. 2yr/$6M base contract with $6M in incentives. It looks like for both 2022 and 2023, there is $2M combined incentives for receptions, receiving yards and TD’s - how much and how many? Anyone’s guess.
Also looks there is also a team incentive for $2M if we make playoffs and/or number of team wins plus his stats would equal up to a $2M base salary escalator in 2023.
