Josh Reynolds contract details

Someone got these numbers very, very wrong in the reporting. This definitely makes more sense. 2yr $6M with an additional $4 million in incentives. $2.75M is guaranteed, SB $1.5M, Base Salaries $1.2M (2022) and $1.8M (2023), workout bonuses of $50K per year, Roster bonus $1M due on March 20, 2023 and a $400K per game roster bonus in 2023. Cap hits of $2M 2022 and $4M 2023.

Lions will be $34.2M under the cap after this transaction and the impending release of Flowers.

That contract is a steal.

Looks like it’s good for both sides. If Josh has a solid year, great. If not, we have an easy out.

Yeah, we are adding 2 WR this offseason…

Agreed this is closer to what I expected. I thought he may get 2 years 8mil initially.

That makes a lot more sense. The 2 years 12 million reported seemed very high on face value as he only got 3 million off the Titans last year and I doubt would have had much of a market in FA this time around.

Looks like we can get out of it easily enough after 1 year if needs be too.

Absolutely and that changes the calculous a bit in my mind. He went from on paper WR2 at least, to what could end up being a sub package guy with vet leadership ability in the room.

Yes much better then what i thought. Now get a true number one.

Incentive based like I thought and much closer to the numbers I had expected.

I definitely like this signing and contract.

Holmes baby!! Hope he continues to prove his worth and is here for 20 years.

Great deal! Funny how the original terms are almost always wrong.

Even the original thread here said in the subject “up to” . A lot of folks seemed to gloss over that part of it.

It seems to be a far deal with chances for him to make better money if he has a bigger impact. I’ma hoping he earns the max solely through play and nothing to do with other’s being injured.

That’s super cheap, if Reynolds can play like he did last season. Really good deal for the Lions.

A fair deal for a guy who will hopefully be WR4. I like it.

Doesn’t Disner do the contracts? I’m pretty sure does.

Where did the “up to $12M” come from? Looks like its “up to $10M”?

If reynolds can really be number 4 and cephus is 5. Because we sign a 1/2 and get a top flight talent in this draft that would be fantastic. I would like to take a few mid to late round cracks at receiver this year.

Nate’s monthly reminder to everyone that journalism is dead. If writers today can’t assemble a proper sentence, why should we expect them to math?

Aaron give us a few more deals. 2yr/$6M base contract with $6M in incentives. It looks like for both 2022 and 2023, there is $2M combined incentives for receptions, receiving yards and TD’s - how much and how many? Anyone’s guess.

Also looks there is also a team incentive for $2M if we make playoffs and/or number of team wins plus his stats would equal up to a $2M base salary escalator in 2023.
