Hecht is one of the few options I could see hitting the ground running from day one. I like Lew too but he might need an adjustment period, especially coming back from the injury. There are some deeper guys who could hit right away like Bortolini did (Gulbin, Jones, Slaughter, Coogan) but I certainly wouldn’t love it if that was the plan.

Some Juice cut ups
It almost feels like were back to where we were with GG. We have a probable backup OC/G who can fill in along the offensive line if needed. He can probably start at OC but you have to figure we’re drafting somebody to compete with him, so he’s worse case scenario. The 4th gives us some more leverage, I think to possibly move up from our second or 4th and get “our guy” too
And restructures coming soon…
To mitigate the loss of Kingsley. If this guy doesn’t play in a Bluegrass or Blues band on the weekends, I’ll burn my hat!

Juice Scrubb
But we need bodies.
I like what I read about Brian Parker II. Maybe not a day one center, but give Juice the season start with the intention of a youngin taking snaps when the inevitable injuries occur.
Same idea with Manu, just you know, working.
Why would you think we won’t find one? I find it very likely we do actually.
Watched his tape, he wasn’t awful.
Right, he’s another option. I’m not quite as high on him as others, but the main reason I didn’t include him is he’s making a position switch so I don’t know that he’ll hit the ground running as much as some of the others.
The Texans had one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. So, for them to trade Juice is telling. I suspect he’s a camp body…nothing more…nothing less.
at least it will be easier to remember his name
So true, I was sick of looking up Kingsley name and how to spell it every time I post about him
He maybe backup or he could be starter. Lets not jump all over him before you research him more. 1 he cost nothing Monty is 4rd pick plus 7 an we saved some cap. He is rd 2 pick what others say means nothing the fact is rd 2 ,you can agree or disagree but fact is rd 2. He had injury an then secon season he played 9 games at C starting those games an was graded 15th in NFL at Center right now if season started he would be the starter. Just because what Lions do an doesn’t match what fans think doesn’t make it wrong. I saw post saying how he was graded third rd even poster said late third rd. Well Texians thought he was worth a second an I think they had at time more info that media. Is he Lion Center to start I don’t know I think he is better now that GG an I liked GG. So right now IMO we have a better C than we ended the season an saved cap . Will he start who knows but he is better than what we had. Plus rd 4 pick an next year rd 7
With a nickname like Juice can a suspension be far behind?
Scruggs was a late bloomer on most draft boards. He was in a severe auto accident while at Penn St and was in a back brace for about 6 months. Most thought his football career was over. After a lot of hard work and rehab he returned to start his final 2 years at PSU. By the middle of his last year scouts had taken notice and he was sky rocketing up the boards. I think after all his medicals checked out at the combine he was looked at as a day 2 pick. He started at C his rookie year and I didn’t follow his career after that but he somehow ended up in the doghouse there.
Current O-line:
LT: Decker, Manu
LG: Mahogany, Frazier
C: (Free agent/draft pick/move Ratledge), Scruggs, McLaughlin
RG: Ratledge, Frazier
RT: Sewell, Cochran
Basically, Juice is Manu, back when we drafted Manu. Solid to average upside. very low floor. Some work out, some don’t. He’s young, has upside (potential worth knocking at) and we got a 4th to boot.
I’d rather have DMo, but my guy likely asked for a trade, and Brad obliged. We could’ve done FAR worse.
