Kansas City Outplayed Us

When did I say that?

We took the lead back. If St. holds on who know where the game goes.

My takeaways outside of the obvious ones already stated:

  • DB’s being healthy sooner than later is important - outside of our top 2, Maddox is a big loss as well.
  • Morton didn’t have his best night - jury is still out for me on him, especially against quality defenses.
  • Finally, and most importantly, there has to be more juice on the d-line. Hutch needs help and yeah, I know Alim will help A LOT in that regard, but we need more juice on the EDGE and NO, Davenport isn’t it. If we don’t get QUALITY d-line help, we’re looking at another exit against the top teams.

The Lions did make some mistakes in the first half but the Chiefs controlled them after that. I knew the moment Saint missed that catch that it would be the turning point, the Lions just don’t have much room for error against that team on the road especially with the shorthanded defense and there was too much error in the first half. By and large though the Chiefs were the better team

Missing decker and them Missing their ot is a wash

Lions zero healthy dbs

Oh and one flag vs them when the game was over.

After the last two years I’m kinda over statement wins and losses in October. They aren’t real, I just want to be healthy and make playoffs. I’d like to win the division but shit happens

Last two years our season ended with dudes off the street starting in the secondary. Hopefully we can get that out the way now

Tonight? Yes. I thought you meant in general. I thought this would be a very difficult game with our DB situation. I thought stops would be damn near impossible.

I was very surprised our offense wasn’t better.

Its happening now with guys on the street. Problem is those guys should stay on the street

Right, Lord willing we are dealing the Arthur Malets of the world week 6 and 7 instead of in the playoffs

The Chiefs defense is really good especially at home but if they simply run a basic play at the goal line to start the game and St. Brown make a catch that he usually makes in his sleep, they likely score 24+ points which would give them a chance.

Regardless, losing to a desperate Chiefs team on the road isn’t that big of a deal but it makes these two home games against Tampa and Minnesota critical going into a very tough stretch thereafter.

It seems like injuries are recurring theme for the lions. I know its part of the game, but seems more then normal for the lions. Dbs shouldn’t be this bagged up week 6

After the 4th and 1 call to start the game I’m not.

Too cute, should’ve established dominance like we did against Baltimore and just punched it right in early and often.

I’ve said it in another thread. Isaac TeSlaa is talented enough to be the #1 WR on 1/4 to 1/3 of NFL teams.

He has zero shot of that with the Lions. There are multiple other positions on this team where players of a similar talent level to TeSlaa could be key contributors. WR is not one of them.

So the Lions lost… And we are 4-2. Cancel the season. We might never win again :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Ra dropped a pass on a 4th and 2, that would almost have been a guaranteed TD drive.

Hutch missed a huge sack that would have ended a KC drive that instead ended in a TD.
I know coach Dan teaches this way, that any play can be “that play” that changes a game. We weren’t that far off from winning that game…and the biggest issue by a mile was health of the secondary.

The difference between this year and last year is

This year we will be getting our guys back in a
Month. Last year we didn’t get our guys back at all.

You know what makes me feel better about losing to the Chiefs? The eagles losing to the giants. Does anyone think the giants are really better than Philly? Sometimes you just don’t play a good game.

The whole thing about how we’ve yet to beat a team with a winning record is concerning to me.

The new OL has looked great against bad teams, and get mauled when we play decent to good teams.

The Ravens were missing two pro bowlers on the DL when we played them.

Yes, the young guards are still a work in progress. They’ll get better throughout the year. But the best way to beat the Lions is to stop or disrupt their running game. That’s what the Chiefs did.

I also thought the Chiefs got away with a lot of holds that weren’t called. It wasn’t the reason we lost but the score would’ve been closer. But then who knows?
