Listen, not trying to be a jerk but I would think we need to pump the breaks on placing blame solely at Sheppards feet. Also, if Sheppard is proving himself to be so unqualified for the job, who hired him?
Are Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes beyond all criticism and mistakes for the issues the team has today or is it all because of the defensive coordinator?
That’s a fair way to assess the offense, with the OL changes and a new coordinator finding his feet.
Shep has been in place for over a season now. We were poor in 2025, and are one of the worst defences in the league two games into 2026. People can blame injuries or poor recruitment, but the problems look much deeper than that to me.
If there isn’t significant improvement or at least signs of it over the next two games, we need to start looking at moving away from Shep. Carrying on with him is just burning daylight on any chance of making a SB while we still have so much offensive talent.

He knew what his personnel was going to be entering the season. What schematic changes has he made to cover the deficiencies of the secondary? What is the identity of this defense? What do they do well? The bills were running the same plays in the same situations as the Saints getting the same results. Why is Hutchinson allowed to freelance if he keeps losing contain? Why does it seems like there is confusion on all three levels? This is on Shepard and Campbell just as much as Holmes.

ah -no it meant Defensive Coordinator, sorry, but I’ve been coughing up enough slime to make another Ghostbusters and a good part of that was this morning (9/24/26) so I wasn’t all that clear, I knew some of you was thinking I meant coach Dan, but I have been reeeeaaaalllly Mad about our defensive Moron in Kelvin Sheppard and how he has taken our Defense into the 31st or 32nd percentile already. I’d run his ass out of town.
Kelvin Sheppard comes off as super phony. He talks like someone trying to sound intelligent. He isn’t. He’s trying to fake it til he makes it but he’s not going to make it. He’s a fine lb positional coach but he’s no coordinator. He seems like he isn’t bright enough to coordinate matching socks in the morning. Bring back ag next year or even better, if Tampa fires Bowles he should be the guy we go after.

Amik wasn’t good here last year and Alex has been a disaster in Tampa.
